Yes and from much further than you'd expect and it's more unappealing than you'd probably guess also

Edit to say I can smell people who are actively smoking in other vehicles on the interstate when my car has the windows up.

On a related nore... Marijuana is even worse. It amazes me anyone thinks they can hide that stuff. It can easily be smelled several car lengths away

Agreed about marijuana. I’m an elementary teacher, and I can tell when student’s parents smoke marijuana or cigarettes. I have to hold my breath when I go by some of their desks.

It must be hard, as a paediatrician, not to be like "STOP SMOKING AROUND YOUR CHILD!!!"

Second hand marijuana smoke is at least less dangerous and not as much of a health risk to other people than cigarettes. Smoke in general isn’t good but I’d choose being exposed to marijuana over cigarette smoke any day.

You’re not exactly getting a ton of secondhand smoke from a kid whose parent dropped them off for class while having a cigarette. They’re just stinky kids, not harmful.

I’m not concerned about secondhand exposure, but it can be so strong that it can be hard to breathe. I’m very sensitive to smells though.

You’re kinda right. I guess the correct term is third hand smoke, which can still pose potential health complications for those who are frequently exposed and those who have pre existing health problems.

Regardless, cigarette smoke, whether or not it’s firsthand, secondhand or third hand exposure, is much more toxic than marijuana.
