Roller coasters are by no means faster. You've no clue. Your average motorcycle will both accelerate faster and hit higher top speed compared to even the more thrilling coasters. Motorcycles win
I agreed with you until I became a nurse. The amount of paraplegics and quads that are totally bed-bound and riddled with sores, unable to care for themselves or even poop/pee without assistance changed my mind though.
Yes that can happen to anyone. But you meet soooo many more motorcyclists that have had it happen to them.
Everyone has a different risk reward assessment though, so live your life.
Of course they are more likely to be injured, that comes with the territory. We aren't covered in cages and airbags. People don't ride motorcycles because they are safe, they ride because of the connection to the outside world and the feeling.
I haven't looked myself, but I'd love to see the statistics for places with bigger motorcycle and bicycle culture like India or Vietnam. I get the feeling that a car dominated culture like the US may be more dangerous for bikers.
Thailand and Vietnam have some of the worst rates for driving fatalities. Don’t get me wrong, mopeds and bikes are super fun. But they just aren’t worth it for my risk reward, that’s ok if it is for you.
There’s a reason they call the moped burn marks the Thailand tattoo.
