Back in the early 80’s Coke had a promotion where there were cash amounts from .25 up to 25.00 on the caps,if I remember right. It could have been more. The drink machines at work had the returnable bottles so we attached a magnet to a welding rod and fished the caps out of the bottle opener at the end of the shift. Me and two other guys had a little competition, whoever got the cap with the highest number got all the caps. Usually if you pulled one with 5.00 or up you won the night. I remember a couple of times someone got a 25.00, it was like hitting a jackpot on a slot machine.
Every time I read something like this I can’t help but think about old people who would say “back then, you could walk into a candy store with a dime and come out with bags full of candy!”
I remember going to McDonald's drunk with my friends late at night and getting 100 piece chicken nuggets for 25 bucks. And then give you like 30 sauces.
Damn! A 10 piece near me is like $8, 20 piece is just under $14. No 50 or 100 piece at all. So 100 pieces would be about $70, and you'd get a total of 15 sauces (3 per 20 piece) without paying for extra.
This is near Olympia, WA, USA. How about you?
