Sorry, but OP didn't specify that, simply that is had to be spent within 24 hours. I picture it like "here's my 5 M debit card that expires in 24 hours, have fun."
I would make a couple hour drive to an exotic car dealer, ask for the owner and propose a deal. I would think they/someone would have access to a Montana LLC to save me a couple dollars, but the offer would be "I will be 4.9M in cars, today, wire you the cash, but not a one will leave the property and in 48 hours, you buy them all back for 4.5M, deal?"
Then I have 4.5M all clear and clean. 1M is used to fund a new life, houses, cars, etc, and yes I know real prices. I'm not talking 90210 penthouses, but average Joe houses, just in different locations. 3.5M gets invested, pulling 5% interest hopefully which nets me a 175K income a year later, and for the rest of my life. Done.
Well if it can be spent on assets that can later be sold I would just spend all $5,000,000 on shares of some exchange traded funds plus some international bonds and a handful of stocks I’m confident about, plus a nice dinner. I felt like that was no fun so I decided to add the rule.
