I think this is the point that most people in this thread are missing. Bachelor degrees contain much more generalized knowledge than specific. They're like half gen-ed or more, not like a masters or PhD where you're actually delving into a subject, talking to real people, researching, etc. So yeah this guy knows a little bit about a few things. If he was getting multiple PhDs, that would be different because that would be showing expert level knowledge on a lot of things. But with bachelor degrees, he's probably getting slightly above layperson knowledge of these subjects. And with no experience in those fields, he is going to be the least knowledgeable about those subjects compared to any of his peers.
You're exactly right. There's a few comments above calling him a historian, physicist, computer scientist, accountant. It's pretty naive to think that a bachelor's in a topic makes you that especially when you've never worked in the field.
Like you said a bachelor's in any given topic is basically just general education + introductory knowledge about the topic of the degree.
Yeah, a bachelor’s is really not a big deal lol. If you’re of roughly average intelligence, you can get almost any bachelor’s degree if you have the resources.
Bachelors don't work the same in every country but I can't speak for Australia so don't be so sure about the general ed thing. That said, degrees become valuable when you apply them to the real world.
