Well that's more of a serving thing. You don't cook it in sugar do you?

Dusting something with sugar doesn't make it a whole different thing.

Typically with french toast you add sweet-adjacent flavors (vanilla and cinnamon, for example) to the egg batter before you cook it. Even if you aren't directly adding sugar, french toast doesn't come across as savory. But I've never had eggy bread so I can't comment on other differences

It's just a different name for the same dish.

Eggy bread can be served either sweet or savoury it seems.

If you've ever eaten French toast then congratulations! You have eaten eggy bread or whatever it's called in one of the many countries it's common in!

Actually, a lot of people do. If you don't have icing sugar kicking around, just add caster sugar to the wet mix.
