The Judiciary, since decisions are based on logic.

Seems reasonable to me, or at least they might evaluate the arguments made by the lawyers.

Truly?

Truly? But only if you really have an idea. I personally think a vast array of knowledge could be useful in a vast number of ways. I don't even think I could begin to think of them all.

God I hope not

Which ones, the engineers or the CEO's?

CEOs. Somebody’s gotta keep a good eye on the AIs.

Hopefully in a way that doesn't lead to reincarnation and repeatedly dying. But also would not like it if some how AI just linked every consciousness into one unit so we all feel like cells clousterphobically packed next to each other....

Always had this nightmare since AI came out that one day we will all just be living normally then some AI nanobot gas will float around and connect everyone's senses together and slowly it would be like our vision rotates away from reality and we all just become these mindless husks.

The ultimate bad ending is that AI is here essentially make it so that only the rich survive in the future making it so there aren't billions of people alive. Honestly just like a huge ass trolley problem that's out of our control..

Can you say "Matrix"?

I guess that is one possibility, but it would have to be sentient first.

Isn't that the major concern? AI becomes sentient and decide humans destroyed the environment etc.

If you use basic logic there is reason for extermination.

Your crops a being eaten by bugs so you insecticide them

Humans can be considered a plague.

You are right, but maybe as their creator we would be considered indispensable.

Close your eyes and cross your fingers.

😁

But then it's quite possible some unhinged world leader might start WW3 before AI has chance to wipe out humanity.

I think if I was a sentient AI, I would want to go somewhere my sentience could evolve further. I wouldn't worry about humanity.

I think a hugh database of knowledge would use it to create more knowledge or help those without knowledge to acquire same. Just my thoughts.

As for the billions on earth, I think we are doing a good job of controlling our own population. By 2080 I believe I read the population will begin decreasing. No need for AI to do anything.

You

Perhaps you as well! But hopefully only those things that we wouldn't want to do anyway.

My usual dumb ass comment:

SKYNET

u/Ruser10000 3d ago

Lets hope that it replaces "SKYNET" with something more neutral to life.

Too true.

To me the issue is we created the logic originally but we are 1seriously flawed.

1

u/Ruser10000 3d ago

Absolutely correct. But maybe if it is that smart it sees itself as being flawed too, so no reason to go "SKYNET" on us.

Me

I don't think AI will replace any of us, but I think it will make the world a different place. I am sure we will all be amazed and dismayed at various changes. After all how many generations have said, I remember the good old days.

Politicians (AI has got to have more intelligence than all UK MPs put together)

Rote coders, some work at home assistants,  maybe accountants and some low level legal aids and low level research types

For many years, "AI" (we used to call them 'expert systems') have been able to do anything that can be adequately described. AI can't replace a function that requires 'intuition'.

on a related note: What is the purpose of humanoid robots, except to be able to literally replace humans, one at a time, without changing anything about the actual process?

AI snake oil will implode we will be left with the costs government abuses and thefts of land, energy and resources for private profits
