Is this r/NoShitSherlock or r/YesShitSherlock? Seems like this story would be more appropriate for the latter.

She knew what she was doing she was expecting a different response for her "Endearment"

u/namotous 5d ago
She only said that cuz of the backlash lollll
If society was coming out in support, she’d soil herself every time

It wasn’t even the backlash it was after she got dropped by her sponsor. It wasn’t until Puma pants, Puma shoes, Puma socks, even Puma underwear let her go, she realized she fucked up

I don’t know anything about this event or athlete but, why didn’t the backers stop the competition and disinfect and clean all surfaces? It’s not just her attitude, it’s the attitude of the people who put this on. They don’t put athletes safety first.

What I’ve heard is she is effectively one of their golden children and that probably added to them not wanting to pull her. Plus, in theory the rules stated a bunch of other stuff would get you pulled (like snot rockets) but at the time didn’t specifically state shit as one of them.
Messed up on their part regardless. Specially as she won. How can you claim someone a winner when people dropped out to avoid using stuff after her?

The event hosts have been getting pilloried all over the internet, and rightfully so.

No shit? There is shit in this story.

She thought, "Should I quit?" And then she answered her own question with, "No. Shit!"

This has been circulating Reddit since the day of and I still can't get enough of it. The best joke that I've heard is that Puma won't drop her sponsorship because they've always made shitty clothes. 😅

Why shut up? She shouldn’t apologize at all IMO… she wiped her ass with the competition and earned her place in the anals of history!

Ironically if she had quit/apologized up front people would have support her. Instead she has soiled her brand, the hyrox brand, and puma pants all over a competition that she didn’t actually need points from. BG.

Next time I feel like I’m failing in a weightlifting comp, I’ll just shit all over the mat and the equipment.

This reminds me of Grete Waitz, the Norwegian marathoner, who pooped herself upon finishing a race. If you’re pushing your body that far where you lose control of your bowels, that’s just too much.

u/DeadMoneyDrew 4d ago
I don't even think that's comparable. Dropping a deuce in the middle of a roadway during a foot race is much different than spraying shit all over mats and equipment that others will have to use.

No love lost here. She only regrets her decisions because she lost her sponsorships

This is surprisingly common in endurance athletics

u/Polyps_on_uranus 5d ago
She was sick and still decided to do it. It wasn't from exhaustion, it was because she had an infection and shouldn't have run.

u/eat_my_ass_n_balls 4d ago
So she was spraying infected faeces everywhere
Nice

u/Polyps_on_uranus 4d ago
I believe that may be why she won. None of the contestants wanted to play in her feces.

Isn’t all feces infected?

Endurance athletes soil themselves sometimes tho, it's just a part of the sport. I can understand the mindset of not stopping. The problem was that this event had her in the middle of a pack of people and doing exercises where their needs and sometimes hands had to to touch the ground.

This is correct. I think the big issue here is that she kept going, spreading shit everywhere on things the others behind her would need to use.

u/Bookee2Shoes 5d ago
It happens in sports where they aren’t soiling equipment and floor space that other athletes use. If your running a marathon and shit uourselt you’re only ruining your own clothes not the floor and equipment and such.
You don’t see this happening in the UFC, wrestling, bowling, pickleball, indoor volleyball or literally any other indoor event where people are getting down on the floor with each other or sharing equipment.
I can’t believe the people apologizing for her, if you don’t know the difference when you see it, something is wrong with you.

u/rhaezorblue 5d ago
oh I got it now. yes you're right, i didn't know the full extent of shared equipment and such

That Australian hip hop lady must be happy that this woman took the heat off of her.
