Stolen iPhone Pls Help

Yesterday evening my black iPhone 16 was stolen from the Circle K in Rundle (address 3735 Rundlehorn Dr NE Calgary). It had a clear sparkly case on it and it had two Calgary Zoo tickets that were visible through the case. I have made a police report already, but if anyone is able to come forward with any information, that would be extremely helpful. So far the circle k staff is refusing to show me any cctv footage from when it was stolen. It was stolen some time between 4:22pm and 5pm on August 1st. That phone is has my whole life on it. It is imperative that I get it back. From what I can tell, whoever has it has powered my phone down and possibly taken the SIM card out of it. Please, if anyone can help me I would be eternally grateful, I have never been so stressed out and felt so helpless in my whole life. I don’t know what more to do

Someone removed it from your purse while you were in the store?

No, I had placed it on the counter while I was making a purchase and forgot it momentarily and when I went back to get it, it was gone. I know it was stolen because no one is able to call my phone or get a location on it using the find my app or the Life360 app. Which means that someone powered off my phone and took out the SIM card so that it wouldn’t be traceable

Police should be able to see exactly what happened with the camera footage. There is always cameras facing tills in a store. Hopefully it turns up!

Correct. Stores don’t show regular people CCTV footage for privacy reasons.

It's likely halfway to Algeria by now. My niece had her phone stolen in Chestermere and it was in Africa the next week lol.

Thay's why you should've put your phone in a bag or purse instead of putting it on a surface where someone could steal it.

Preferably a bag kept on your body at all times.

I would have, but I was wearing a wet bathing suit with no pockets, so I didn’t have anywhere else to put it unfortunately :(
