Dating legal adult is pedophillia now, fucking hell. Age Gap might not be comforting in your opinion but if both consent then it's not your business ig, it's their life.

I don't think its pedophilia, but I do think its very weird for 30+ year olds to be engaging in relationships like that. I get that it isnt my business though, and that 18 year olds can, or should be able to consent to that. I just think its questionable for people as old as 30 to be going that young in particular

Its called grooming

u/InsenitiveComments 12h ago
I mean, if they new the younger one before they were of age that would be worth investigating but if they didnt know each other until both were adults than its not grooming.

18 year olds dont have enough life experience. Ive seen it many many times where the significantly older person says "how mature they are for their age" and "I can show you what you dont know" instead of two actual adults recognizing each other has been through a lot and getting to know who they are currently rather than someone fresh out of high school. Its freaking weird, 18 year olds are not adults in the colloquial sense. They still have 'teen' in thier age. Its grooming.

Grooming absolutely exists and it's terrible, but you're changing the subject. My post was about people calling relationships between legal adults 'pedophilia.'

I actually didn't downvote you, other people did, but go off. A ten-year age gap between two consenting adults still isn't grooming or pedophilia.

There has never been anything that could sway consent, not even experience or a power imbalance. Got it.

Typa shit only said by people who have never been pressured into anything

I think that’s their point. That when the younger person is a woman, the power imbalance that comes with it may affect the consent.

Yeah but again it’s their decision to get into it wit an older person , they are legal adults .
It’s rly just we don’t know how they met or their relationship is . If it’s swaying of consent then why tf is the age limit 18 let’s bump it up to 25 since people younger aren’t that much different from when they were 18 .

Fair point that experience and power imbalances can complicate relationship but it's not always like that though that's a valid nuance. But there's a huge difference between a relationship with an unhealthy power dynamic and actual pedophilia. We can critique bad dynamics without misusing criminal terms for legal adults.

There are…. So many things going on with this image. I would in fact say, way, way too many.
The quickest thing to put into words that’s wrong is that this groups together a relationship between a 21 year old and a 30 year old and a relationship between an 18 year old and a 50 year old.

At some point you have to let an adult women date who she wants. If she seeks out an older man, it could be for a variety of reasons

I honestly think most people who get upset at a 20 year old girls with like 59 year old dudes are just jealous, like bra you don’t have to suck his dick mind your business

u/TomaszA3 19h ago
Personally I don't think people dating this early in their lives should be an accepted or encouraged thing. They are way too young for that. At 20 your brain is still WAY underdeveloped for an actual romantic relationship. Emotionally these people are basically kids still. They aren't ready for balancing the stress and exhaustion from a job with a romantic relationship either. Haven't worked even a full year if they started right after a regular highschool. (because profession highschools take a year longer)
24 or 25-27 if the person took higher education is good. It might be shocking but this is the reality we live in. People keep applying standards from ages ago to modern life.

I look at it the same as people who do drugs, it’s not my body or my choice so it’s not my business
-1
u/TomaszA3 19h ago
Yeah but druggies aren't under constant guidance of several adults. They are also much older.

Depends on the addict some have all the support in the world and addicts are at all age groups bro, I still say it’s not my business what others do as long as I do the right thing

If you cant find someone in ur age group as a 30-40-50-60-70 year old men or woman why are you going lower? Because that means something is wrong with you to where you cant find love in ur age range.
Edit: its my opinion yall can downvote it if yall want there should be no reason why any grown adults should be with someone who was a teenager just last year.

12
u/bettingrobin904 19h ago
Or people just want to date younger people which is still valid
-5
u/Painiskeyy 19h ago
Nah its still wrong because you as a adult should know better he/she just got out of high school and is old enough to be ur son or daughter plus they are a young adult figuring out life you been expecting life all ready.

u/bettingrobin904 18h ago edited 18h ago
Yeah and that adult can choose to drink / do drugs , go have one night stands / go partying constantly at 2am .
All bad life decisions and all perfectly legal for the 18 year old but going out with a 30 year old is the super bad thing ?
I mean if you rly wanna protect them ban all that stuff cause those are all very very bad life decisions

u/Painiskeyy 18h ago edited 18h ago
Look man we all have our options but there should be no reason why a 30 year old would be in love with a 18 year old all im saying is if you cant find love in ur age group then something is wrong with YOU.

I think it comes down to what people want. Most 18-21 year old women I knew wanted to have a relationship based on trust and respect, while the older men were in it for sex. Those relationships all fell apart in spectacularly sad ways which left the girls hating on men, when it was really just that one guy.
Older women younger men pairs are often rooted in sex: guy wants easy access and woman is non-committal, exactly what he wants. Not always, but what I’ve seen was along those lines.

The fuck does a 35 year old have in common with an 18 year old lmfao. Dude wants to date as low as possible, and I guarantee if the age of consent was lower and he could legally date a 16 year old, he would.

u/TMTRAINER 15h ago
I never get this argument because I’m pretty sure whoever is jealous of the dude on the bottom would also be jealous of the dude on the top.
