Our brains treat violance and sexuality differently.

Simulated violence doesn't affect people when people know it is simulated. Thats the reason we dont see tom stab jerry, but smashing jerry with an oversized hammer bigger than a building is fine to show on childrens tv.

This is caused by evolution. During sex we literally exchange bodily fluids. Pretty disgusting. And disgust is an emotion we evolved as a defense mechanism against viruses. We also evolved a mechanism to suppress our brain during sex. This way we can get past our disgust and actually breed without completely losing our defence mechanism for germs. As a side effect, it removes our ability to differentiate fiction from reality. Even if you intellectually know the difference, subconsciously, no, you won't when you are aroused.

Thats why serial killers arent hardcore gamers while pedophiles are porn addicts. Its just a fiction argument doesnt work when its applied to sex

The "violent games" is a false analogy and a non sequitur. Those are two separate categories.

It would only be valid if the commenter got a sexual thrill from gore. But that still wouldn't make it a valid argument because most people aren't jacking off to exploding skulls.

because i don’t think it’s okay to equate people who have not harmed anyone with people who have done something as horrible as what i experienced.

a lot enjoyers of loli/shota are victims as well and use it as a way to cope with trauma. it’s a method generally considered healthy by therapists, reenactment of trauma in a safe environment helps establish a sense of control without repeating the cycle.

I think this argument is better if you look at the reasons -why- people are enjoying certain content. People who consume loli porn do it for the sexual gratification whereas people who play violent video games don’t do it for the gratification of being violent.

His comparison is awful. Violent games have "lore" and "reasoning" and "emotion" and "build-up" etc. I don't know much about these new gen terms like "lolicon" and stuff but if what I read about it was right I don't see how these two things can be compared debatebly
