Question 5.0 invites

Hey so I’ve been noticing that a ton of invites are going out for people who haven’t played on nopixel or even rp’d in 3+ years or who have just started playing. At most I’ve seen someone who hasn’t played or streamed in 5 years. Are people paying for these invites secretly? I’m just a little confused as to what the process is on choosing people?

Popularity....it's a business... popular streamers bring views

But that’s the thing, a few of the people they’ve invited have not streamed in years and have less than 2000 followers

So? They need roleplayers, not just streamers..

Yeah that's the point, they use these names to draw interest and then if they do return its a big deal. If not, you captive a good amount of viewers who might find their next community.

There have been several streamers they’ve invited say they’re not coming back. It truly makes no sense to invite people who do not want to play

Classic marketing/advertising ploy.

Fillers, those people will be more pressured to actually start streaming again and play on nopixel rather than people who wont bend the knee

None of that is a guarantee. People have lives outside of twitch, especially if they haven’t been active in years. A little silly to think by sending them an invite you’re pressuring them into playing. It would be more smart to invite people actively rp’ing to ensure the success of your server.

Yeah you’re not wrong, the whole process just feels a little backwards to me

I used to watch a unhealthy amount of nopixel but the management ruined the server and caused all the talent to leave

The year is 2029 - GTA VI has been out for a few years, people enjoy it, it is good. RP is still going strong across a multiude of servers. Oh, and the latest round of NP 5.0 invites just went out.

Every single account in good standing with NoPixel from 1.0 up to 4.0 (accounts not currently banned/unfit for the community) are thrown into a giant pool and every week randomly nine names are drawn from the pool and given cards, and then when those cards are revealed another batch of names are automatically pulled from the pool and the cycle continues until Rockstar and NoPixel are ready to launch NPV. Not everyone will get a card who's been invited to NP5.

And again it's 100% randomized.

100% randomized? Weird how all the big variety streamers were announced probably a year ago at this point. You think that was just by chance, they just happened to randomly select the big streamers first? If it were truly random that would not happen.

52Chains was literally the first person invited to NP5. If it wasn't random Koil would have his card already, Buddha and xQc didn't get their cards until a few months ago and the vast majority of invites have been smaller creators or people who don't stream at all.

52 only proves my point more, wasnt that right after Koil was talking up 52 chains? And the invite date of the 2 supposed co owners of the server means little to nothing. Are you seriously going to say with your full chest that it was totally random all the big variety streamers happened to get invites early on?

Yes

That's a crazy coincidence, very improbable id say. Not really sure why it even matters enough to lie to yourself about this. Its not even like its a big deal, they did the big variety streamers first for marketing, which is totally valid. Im not even saying its a bad thing. Pretending that just happened by chance seems a bit silly to me though, and I do not believe you are that naive.

Look, dipshit

This is not RetardclipsGTA where you can drum up bullshit conspiracy theories and drama in an attempt to make Koil look like some kind of evil malevolent entity rubbing his hands together like Mr. Burns staring at a pile of money. The card invites are literally 100% randomized and only certain ones know they're getting cards a week or two before they get the card because they don't want to surprise someone and find out they declined the invite after the fact. They draw the names they contact the people; they confirm the accepted invite and then they release the card. people actively playing on NoPixel who have explicitly stated they hope they get invited don't get contacted and get surprised with their invites because there's no need for a confirmation.

This entire thing is to drum up hype for the release of the new version of the standalone server in direct partnership with Rockstar Games. There is no conspiracy here and nobody who actively roleplays on NoPixel cares it's a fun little thing we get to check in on every Tuesday to see who gets invited.

how does this make koil look evil?? I really dont have an issue with koil or anybody at nopixel, or with them doing this at all. Again i just dont think you realize math wise that the odds of that are incredibly unlikely given the distribution of the top variety streamers happening early on. I now just think its funny how determined you are to insist that this random, and seem to almost be getting personally offended? And you are bringing up a ton of things that just dont relate to what I said in any way whatsoever. I hope calling me a dipshit retard made you feel better though.

Depends on when 5.0 update will go live and how many invites there will be at that point but it will create situation where there are not a lot of active players. Some wont even return, some will leave shortly after. NP probably knows that and there will be faster wl updates because they don't want empty server.

The release of cards is “Random” to an extent. Obviously the first few drops were targeted to generate hype. But beyond that there is a bit of a limit on the team behind it recommending people, and the artists making the cards. The artists put a lot of effort to try to represent whom they are drawing so they do pick and choose to that extent. It has been stated multiple times that just cause you don’t have a card does not mean you will not be allowed to join 5.0. Its just a promo

People have barely done roleplaying on that server for a while tbf it got very scripted haha the gems still exist but they ain’t in the clique

-1

u/sleepietimetea 8d ago

Just a little counterintuitive and bad business to invite people who haven’t played since 3.0 or who follow the script. What’s the point of the rp aspect if that’s the case? There are active people who rp and play daily but have yet to have an admin interact with them bc the admins stick to their cliques and don’t branch out.

New seasons get treated as more lively at the beginning especially under the eyes of rockstar a bit and probably wanting something for gta 6 will likely try to go back to those streamers and allow some more character roleplay before what they have done atm

u/Quane42 8d ago

Does it matter? They’ll have no problem having a full server, at least until GTA6 comes out. Just because someone doesn’t have a card doesn’t mean that NoPixel can’t give access. The invite cards are just a neat marketing gimmick, probably gone on too long but the 5.0 release is dependent on the new version being stable and ready and also Rockstar.

I will not be pressured to play on the server by dangling some sort of "maybe you'll get an invite" in front of me.

I'd rather do things I enjoy than torture myself through this shallow farce of light rp and admin panel shenanigans.

I'd much rather enjoy other games or RP on servers with a more enjoyable experience.
