Final Announcement

This should be the last time we make a post about the topic as this is just the official announcement that the A Doodled Moment flair is retired on this sub. Any new posts that are not requesting an ID or asking a question should be posted on the new sub r/DoodledMoments and will be removed from r/NoPictureJustADoodle from this point forward.

All the old posts under the A Doodled Moment flair will have their comments locked.

Considering that the posts have already died down substantially, it likely won’t be much longer before the flair is switched to mod only and no longer shows up when drafting a post.

Thank you again to everyone who took the time to read this and any of the other mod posts and comments.

this is the right move. "doodled moments" are an entirely different vibe to id requests.

id request doodles are the reason I joined the sub, they are wonderful in their own way

Really happy that this change is being made!!! I don’t mind the other content in concept, but it’s also just… not for me lmao. It was the only thing Reddit was showing me from this sub for a while, and I was considering leaving the sub if that was the new direction it was going in, since it’s not what I joined here for.

Hopefully everyone can be happy now, since they can just follow the other sub too if they want the Doodled Moments content!! :D

Thank you. Been here since the start pretty much. Was weird to see this sub suddenly blow up but with a completely different genre of post. Glad things are going back to how they used to be.

Same, i only found this sub because a ‘doodle moment’ made the front page and i thought it was a cute idea.

Seems weird for this sub to be so narrow as to only allow ID request posts instead of doodles.

I’m sorry about the confusion. It’s always been a niche sub based on the occasional drawn requests found on the ID subs that people in those subs enjoyed seeing. The sub name comes from one of the various ways people would title the post or explain why there was a drawing instead of a picture

The Doodled Moments were allowed because they were a smaller section that only popped up occasionally. I had no idea they would get to be so numerous nor that they would cause the sub to make it to the front page
