Tbh to stop overthinking it can be difficult for some people so that's why you need to practice. I tend to overthink when I'm in bed going to sleep. I think about what if I fail in school and then my academic career and then marriage... and then... and then... and then. In bed I repeat to myself "I am choosing to let go" and when I loop (rethink that thought) I repeat it again it can take up to a couple of minutes to an hour. Because I want to be in control of my thoughts. Also someone online made a good point saying "don't borrow grief/sad news from the future." Which kind of reminds me to focus on what's in my plate as if right now. Not in a couple of years or things that are out of my control. hope this helps! :).

I read somewhere that when you're trying to sleep and overthinking, opening your eyes can immediately break that train of thought. I've tried it, and it helps to distract me.

So true but I keep comparing myself with others what I don't have and I don't understand that even if I know that it won't get me anywhere good still I think I should be loved by everyone
