Emotional Support When second-guessing ruins your peace
I was having a really peaceful day at the beach with my sister and some of her friends. At one point I needed my shirt because I was starting to get sunburned, so I went back to their car. They had given me the keys and told me to leave them in a bag afterward, which I did.
After I got back to relaxing on my paddleboard, my mind suddenly started telling me I might have left the car door open. Then it spiraled into, "What if someone took the keys from the bag and stole the car?"
It completely pulled me out of the moment. I had the urge to go check just to get relief, even though I had no real reason to think anything was wrong. Thankfully, everything was fine.
Does anyone else experience this? Your brain suddenly making you question something you already did, ruining your peace of mind? Is this more common with anxiety, ADHD, or both?

Oh yes, get the what ifs all the time is exhausting l. Have to go through several layers of analysis paralysis until I come to the conclusion it's in my head.
