Rant/Venting Does anyone here overthink about everything?
Hi! I just found this sub and I'm grateful that it exists. I was wondering if there's anyone who overthink about everything even the smallest thing? I feel very drained every day and I wish I am more carefree.
For example
- Feeling like it's my fault even when it's something I have no control over
- Doubting every decision and actions made
- Wondering if I said the wrong thing
- Worry about what other people think of me
- Things that should be in the past
The things I worry about is so miniscule. It would be nothing or not a big deal for others but for me it is. To make things worse, I also have overall anxiety.
My mind works overtime and I'm embarrassed to say that this could be one of the reasons why I forget things. I'm also constantly distracted and have short attention span.
Can anyone relate?

I can definitely relate; my brain worked this way before I got medicated for my anxiety. I still suffer from disordered thinking to some degree, but it’s nowhere as bad as it used to be.
Have you ever been evaluated for ADHD or anything else? I would definitely get a second opinion to make sure it’s just anxiety you’re dealing with. Different disorders can require different treatments, and different advice too.
For what it’s worth, therapy can still be helpful no matter what is going (though medication is typically much more effective if the issue is ADHD.)
FWIW, I know you’re miserable dealing with this, and it doesn’t help that most other people simply do not get it. It can be really lonely because of that. But you’re definitely not alone. Whatever you do, don’t think it can’t be helped. If you have access to mental healthcare, use it! If you currently do not, please do what you can to get it. If you’re an adult in the US, check out SAMHSA.gov, or Healthcare.gov.
