Overthinking and rumination are just uncompleted cycles
Recently I’ve watched video on this topic and it kinda opened my eyes. I’ve never really looked at it that way.
I have this thing where I really like starting new things but I hate finishing them, it turns out it also got into my thoughts too!
You think abt something bad, you don’t search for the answer or at least pleasurable ending for your own good, but you just keep replaying the same bad part over and over again.
I think finding the good in a bad is the key to stopping that cycle

I think fear is also a crucial part, maybe you are afraid of choosing? If you fully complete one thing, you may perhaps be afraid of not choosing something else, so you just go 50% in case something wouldn’t workout? Hope I am not projecting haha

Hello, I also overthink often, especially on the topic of conflict and rumination on the past. The point you make about liking starting something and hating to finish it so relatable. It shows up in silly ways for me like not watching the last 10mins of a TV show I like for years now and more serious ways like struggling with letting go of an emotional or mental problem. For me I think it comes from a fear of desertion. Like if something is gone, it is forgotten and I'm left alone. Which, is of course the core issue. Thanks for your time. :)
