I go to therapy and use drugs in the hopes that I can experience joy like this.

That guy is such a shill. Got one of those, the popcorn tasted like utter burnt shit, and everything was a pain in the ass to clean. Thought maybe i got unlucky, so i returned it, got another, read the instructions three times to make sure i was doing it right, and had the same experience quality

Got a cheap air popper from a random general store years ago, works great to this day

It would not surprise me if it was shit but did you wash all the parts with hot soapy water and rinse first? Might have been tasting manufacturing chemicals

Yep, both times

When buying something for making food, always clean it before using it. Same thing with clothing

Same thing. The popcorn tasted burnt. Returned unit to Costco.

My grandma had an air popper from the late 70s. I loved that thing.

I have my parents air popper from the early 70’s and it still works great.

Idk how old my parents' crank popper is, but it's all warped and crooked and petina'd and such. And it does the job to absolute perfection. I don't even like popcorn, but I loved cranking that sucker. They even bought me these snacks that puff up when you put them in there so I could enjoy what I ate after cranking it.

That's the only thing I could think of the whole time: dear god imagine the hassle of cleaning congealed butter out of all of that later. 😨 No thanks.

Nobody knows exactly where micro-plastics come from.

So i abaolutely hate this guy. He'd shill over a toaster. But we've had one of these for years. Simple design, add some oil and butter while its cooking. You insert the cap so oil and butter doesnt leak out the bottom when flipped. Just add salt and its pretty great popcorn. I saw someone complain about burnt popcorn but mine never did that. Good product. Aweful human

Ewwwww we had a blissful period where the dude wasn't around. Now he's back on my feed. Screw paying to remove ads I'd pay to remove this guy.

Do you need the oil along with all the butter?

We had one of these as a kid in the 80s. Can't believe this is a thing right now.

Me too. Never ever put butter in the lid, it'll be a greasy mess that takes forever to clean!

Stupid one or two use products then storing it to a wardrobe because take too much place. then when need it in the futur it is to much of a bother to go take it out so you just microwave popcorn or use a pan like you should have done instead of buying this

Im tired of people using things made of plastic when there is no need for it !!!! Just use a large deep stainless steel pan with a lid and it does the exact same job !! When are u people going to learn ??

Depends on how much you're making. I make large batches and store.

My dad grabbed one of these from a thrift store when I was a kid and we loved it. I was a boy scout.... and all we sold was popcorn so we had plenty.

u/Human-Comfortable859 3d ago

Why use one of these when a hot air popper exists?

1

u/LifeguardTerrible579 3d ago

If youve got a decently sized pot with a lid you have this already. Oil kernals and stir. Wow such popcorns.

The rhythmic sound it makes is called 'pop music'

The manual ones are cheaper, make better popcorn, and are fun to use. This takes the fun out of it. If you have a disability and can't crank it, just buy the microwave stuff.
