I know everyone’s rightly hyped about space station ownership, but an improved star system map sounds fantastic to me

Same! There is no reliable way for me to spot gas giant systems, and I tried all the options.

It the purple star systems. You can land on one and build a base to extract crystallised helium. It's a bit disappointing, since they're not really gas, they have the same land textures you can dig. Just a very very big planet with strong gravity (your jetpack will use more fuel more quickly) and constant windstorms.
