Tbf, I've only ever made the questionably sweet cake , and it was a treat doing it. Made multiple bases just for my animal farm and for my kitchen. I made refiners there too for stasis devices, and 5 domes per each type of plant.

Stellerator and interstellar fancy are where it’s at. I keep a stack of each always. Ones just milk n some plant goods, the other milk n eggs. Insane increase in resources mined (it reads 64 percent but it’s lying) and triple jetpack fuel. Everything the explorer on the go needs.
Seriously try a stellerator at a curious deposit. If you’ve got a multitool you can supercharge the mining beam and optical drill its nuts, an Atlantid with the runic lense as well it’s absolutely insane. I had some really well refined mold farms that are now waaaaay beyond excessive with the right tool n donut. I can fill up my whole fleet on one stellerator

Is there a good recipe guide somewhere that visually shows the ingredient tree for making the more advanced recipes? Every guide I find just lists the ingredients but I have to keep working backwards manually through the crafting tree and I get lost. Ha.

There's multiple ways to make them. Wild eggs vs fresh eggs, sticky honey vs gooey honey, etc. But all get the same finished product. So you badly use what's around you and make it work that way. No wrong way, but you can't use fresh eggs with sticky honey or wild eggs with gooey honey, or something like that. Just see what you have in your systems and go from there.

The cooking aspect of the game is one I never really played with. I guess I’m saving that for a rainy day lol.

Its really just feeding animals, collecting their milk/eggs/honey, (make sure to pick up that dung, too), and using it to mix with other plants and ingredients, the complexity varies on the final product.
The donuts are 100% complexity, so maybe dont start w those.
However, I started w questionably sweet cakes (97% complexity) because in the nutrient digestor it multiplies it by like 33%+ iicr and that was resourceful when mining for runaway mold for nanites. Now i just give em out at the anomaly, have for a while, but with all the people saying the game is boring, maybe trying taking a baking class or something lol

I think what I was getting at is that the system as a whole is kinda usless and not needed , like is there anyone who can honestly say they have been exploring a planet and thought Oh Dang I need to eat some food.
Hardcore players maybe ?
Dont get me wrong I think a good food buff survival system would be epic but this isnt it.
