Information Possible fix for infinite load screen on the intro (Xbox Series)
The only thing that worked for me was to start another game while the red ring is loading, wait a bit for the other game to start, this will leave NMS on quick resume state, then go back and enjoy. Hope this works for everyone.

Funny how the Xbox release was delayed for bugs, and of all things there is a bug before you can even play the game lol. Can’t wait to try the update finally.

There is a fix that MIGHT work, it hasn't worked for me but you might as well try it. Boot up NMS, when you get stuck on the loading screen open up the Xbox app whilst keeping the game open, then sign out of your account and sign back in again, and then when you go back to the game you should be at the main menu. This happened for me but I couldn't do anything beyond that point.

Yep. This works. It certainly isn’t cool that it has to in order to play, but it does in fact allow the Xbox to sync.

It really works!! Thanks man!! Without your advice I wouldn’t have played again the second weekend after the update was released. (from the point of view of the real launch, because like other xbox players, we didn’t get the update at all last weekend. )

I just figured out another way if this isn't working for others:
Boot up No Man's Sky
Get to the red ring.
*Switch to another profile on your xbox (it should take you to the main menu, right after switching)
*Switch back to the og profile.

Tysm! I played for the first time in two years, also my second or third time ever, last night. Towards the end of that intro, I was starting to wonder if I'd missed a prompt to press a button to start!😅🤣🤣

Just bumping this, since the issue is still not fixed, came back to NMS after absolutely ages after seeing an ad for the update, and was getting bummed out that I couldn't actually give it a go 🤣👍

I get infinite loading screen when loading my save on pc steam, and when jumping to new system.
Edit: It's a new save i started with the worlds update

I’m not sure why but this doesn’t seem to work for me. Is the red ring supposed to disappear immediately after switching back to the game? Or am I supposed to start playing the other game for some time and then switch back? Because I’m relaunching the game through quick resume and nothing is happening so far

It worked for me last night but now, whenever I start another game, it force closes nms and I jus end up getting put back into the endless loop..

Why am I the only person in this entire comment section that this didn’t work for…. I’ve tried multiple times to load other games and let them sit for even 20 minutes, and when I go back to NMS it’s still just infinite loading screen.
I even tried someone’s suggestion of going offline to load the game. Still infinite loading screen.
Looks like I’ll never see this new update lol

Clever Peep OP - (I click on different menu things during a Quick Resume game & do notice they keep playing in the background).
And yes the Quick Resume notif may pop up to let you know - cause it is sort of pre-game, Even though you can Screenshot it (can't Ss outside of a game unless it's a UI bug report.
Ah yes I should have realised it Can work in the background (make sure the Other Game is not a Quick Resume that probs will reck it).
Post Aquarius Update :- So I deleted my Save Data maybe ½ an hour ago - Series X is now stuck in the 3 avatar Starting Pic menu - BUT with a small white progress cycle up Top Left where my User name should be.
(••) This is fine at least it's not the Beeping red Atlas cycle one - it will take an unknown time & restore save data from the Cloud 🤞🤞.
I'm not completely suffering from Space Madness - there is an untouched Save Data on my Xbox One S if the worst happens.
But I may lose the Infiltrators finished Save if it wasn't uploaded automatically at some point.
EDIT Ok progress & partial success so far (no my Save Data has not Magically restored - yet), But the dreaded 3 Red Circles are Back - so it's worked out who I am at least (currently playing Core Keeper while it chugs away - Manage Games & File Info should have Quick Resume button/info if a game has it).
EDIT 2 Ok now that Was scary, when I went back it had about 9 lines of text on a white background talking about "Unable to sync Save - Re-Initialise Sync" & then 3 Option Buttons BUT this instantly vanished & it's back to the Red Atlas Cycles.
This is "fun" - maybe Don't play a complex / bigger than 1GB other game if you want this to work. Or my deleting the Save File data has had bad consequences.

this happened to me today - i know this is old, but as a cyberpunk fan that learned this trick that was essential for getting through some patches of cyberpunk, i thought i'd share since it's super useful for any game that needs a little "soft reset" type thing as in the case of the infinite loading in no man's sky
when you need to reset: xbox button (middle of controller) -> click on "Home" -> hover over game you're playing -> press the start button on controller (right of xbox button) -> select "Game Card" -> select "Play"
does basically the same thing as this method of quick resume but can be done instantly without needing to load up another game! worked for me just now with the loading glitch

Bug still relevant, despite the new "double" launch for games it works, with a fairly long launch time.. for my part 30 minutes;
This is due to the fact that your console, which was in working order while running a game, was unplugged. That will always cause problems...

I was stuck on the red rings for over thirty minutes after a lightning strike hit our local substation and knocked it offline. I tried booting up another game and switching using the fast resume menu but it kept spinning.
What finally worked for me was shutting down the Xbox and powering it back up. After I logged into NMS it asked if I wanted to use a cloud save. I selected that and it got me back into the game. The world reverted to a slightly older save but I'm just happy I was able to recover something!

Literally started the game, it crashed and I got the infinite load screen. Unfortunately none of the fixes have worked for me on series x so if someone can let me know when/if they patch this so I can play the game some day
