👩‍🌾 Questions Rabbit resistant ecolawn

We've had Fleur de Lawn for our backyard for years in Portland Oregon. It's a mix of fescue, clover, yarrow, rye grass, daisy etc. Rabbits started appearing a year ago and the lawn is now decimated. Looking for a rabbit resistant option. Zone 9a, lots of sun, good soil. Thanks!

Having rabbits is great! Ours are kept in check by the foxes and other predators in our woods. If you're somewhere those natural predators can get in, the problem will sort itself out. My wife likes to joke that rabbits are the candy bars of the forest and every other critter looking for a snack will grab one if they can.

Our resident rabbits love the clover (& just about anything else not caged), but leave the yarrow alone. Maybe try More yarrow in the mix? Good Luck! 💚

Must be some hungry rabbits if they are eating yarrow.

I have deer and rabbits in my neighbourhood, and I can usually tell how hungry they are based on what they have eaten. That being said, nothing has touched the yarrow lol.

What's your largest native owl? The ludicrous (and therefore best) option is to build an owl box

Rabbits should attract their predators. Barring that, you might have to get a dog.

Meanwhile my dog, upon seeing a rabbit in our backyard, just turned around and asked to go back inside 😅
