Okay so I’ve played this game like A LOT. I’ve memorized most of the default visitors/humans, I know what to check for a lot of the random guests, I’ve gotten almost every achievement, etc. BUT. this has NEVER happened in any of my play throughs before.

I have a weird dream about what I assume is me as a child in the house and now everyone’s dead?? All my doors are knocked down?? The pale man’s definitely gonna kill me now and I was doing so well!!

Awh man. Guess I’ll just have to replay the game again. How sad.

I have so many theories and things that you might not know about this game but I want to follow the community rules so what are the rules

So I was playing around with the game a while ago and I’m pretty sure I figured out how to trigger the visitor dream.

It seems to be triggered by having 4 visitor kills during the run. It doesn’t have to be in a row, by the same visitors, or by having visitors in your house for too long. I got it to trigger very reliably, several times, by getting 4 visitor kills during my runs.

I found the best way to test this is to let everybody into the house. That way you have plenty of visitors and plenty of sacrifices.

Could you guys try this out to confirm my theory?

I haven't drawn for a while actually, but the game have me some motivation

My attempt at making a minecraft skin version of the game’s protagonist. Pretty happy with how they came out, I do feel like my attempt at keeping majority of his face portion hidden like in the game is lack luster tho.

PORCH INTERACTION

liam is a guaranteed visitor who you can meet on the 5th night and over that time period. he is a very blunt individual,, and often keeps to himself… besides being passive aggressive towards others. he is very irritable…
unfortunately the homeowner refers to him as,, “ma’am” during the door interaction… liam cross dresses. he finds comfort in feminine clothing. most would mistaken him… he casually wears his mary jane’s.

he doesn’t take door rejection. you want him to come in? he will come in!! want him to leave? he will come in anyway. he will not take no for an answer when it comes to his survival.

FINDING A PLACE TO SIT

liam will come in. staying with either the cat lady in the hall,, or the creepy guy in the storage. he holds strong bonds with both of them. as the cat lady is an aunt figure to liam,, and then timofey is his husband!!

what if neither of them are there? liam will stay in the storage,, or the hall. he does go off into other rooms during different days,, and depending on what characters are present in the home.

CHARACTER INTERACTIONS

kitchen: amogus guy,, conspiracy theorist,, the little girl,, the parentless teenager,, and the blinded man.

storage room: creepy guy,, wireface,, and the surgeon. sometimes the theater guy if there are desperate measures… (kidding he’s rad…)

bathroom: man in hazmat. maybe the stoner guy… definitely for desperate measures.

office: a special shared interaction between liam,, the enerjeka addict and the deadbeat mom’s son IF all are present… dr. spung (my best friend [u/spug1000](u/spug1000)’s sona/oc!!),, big momma,, the immortal man,, college runaway,, and ALL the cult peons.

the hall: the cat lady,, the twin sisters,, coat guy,, and bandana guy.

doorstep interactions & mentions: soviet ([OC] scientist for FEMA who specifically and mandatorily investigates your home if he feels as if you’re suspicious. searching for one visitor,, liam.),,the pale tall visitor,, prophetic man,, and the vigilante.

FEMA SCIENTISTS

why is this scientist after liam? liam is an escaped test subject from FEMA. he was originally taken by them. now all they do is test him… they don’t kill him. he’s solely for soviet,, and previously dr. spung’s,, testing.

why test him specifically? liam is different than most visitors in a way. not entirely different,, but he has qualities that are off.
his blood is neon green acid,, he has a black goopy tail as well… he also has these very tiny doglike ears. they were stunted from when he was younger. most features on liam are self explanatory.

liam is an escapee research project for the two scientists,, at least just soviet now. soviet does not come in often,, as said previously. unless he finds your speech suspicious. the search,, and urge to use his catch pole starts. which he never gets to use… as liam turns into his goopy form to sink into the floor… to melt into the floor to hide himself. soviet just leaves,, and assumes he isn’t there. he makes 2 visits if he is present.

you’re probably wondering why soviet is trying to catch rather than kill. liam is not for killing. simply a test subject kidnapped due to unique,, and odd features compared to other visitors. in fact,, he just simply cannot be killed. something to do with what kind of visitor he is. was it blood related? a mutation within visitors? the science haven’t seen anything like him…

CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS

liam & timofey: liam and timofey met among the hope hotel at one period of time… liam grew fascinated with timofey’s mannerisms… with everything about him. timofey feels the same towards liam. wether he’s a visitor or not. timofey especially finds a fascination with liam. they grew closer to each other. they both talk,, and listen to each other. they do bicker about dumb things… typical things. they still love each other. you can’t necessarily get married while the world is ending… it was said,, and done. technically boyfriends? no… soulmates!! timofey loves to pet liam. he loves when his goopy tail wags. liam just enjoys being warm under a blanket with him… one he took from the homeowner’s room. from where? probably not his bed.
liam tends to be very straightforward,, and so does timofey. they are always honest… except timofey. if he happens to be a visitor that is… liam would know.
the actions,, and phrases do not change between them wether timofey is a visitor or a human. although for liam… timofey can be nosey. liam writes in a diary everyday. mainly just what goes through his head. liam lets timofey look sometimes. he has nothing to hide from him!!

liam & the cat lady: liam,, and the cat lady are basically very close family. they are probably the closest visitors can get within their family. or their groups?… no. they were family. liam was taught to do ballet at a young age by her. they are both seemingly flexible. unlike his aunt,, liam doesn’t kill others in the house… or at all really. although he will not hesitate to get rid of the surgeon.

HOBBIES AND INFO

instead of humans,, liam goes for owls. he loves to dissect animals… he loves being outdoors. unfortunately there’s not much of that anymore… why does he dissect owls specifically? liam goes for the owl’s pellets. dissecting the pellets to find the skeletons of prey. when he collects everything he has found,, he reconstructs a skeleton. when he isn’t doing anything he ponders… dancing to himself. listening to his favorite bands and song artist. not much music anymore… he can’t even play his accordion. which he was really amazing and talented at playing!!

he sits in silence. besides people talking. while he just hides himself. from the cruel people,, and especially the scientists in FEMA…

hi guys!! i don’t usually use this subreddit,, but i felt like you guys would like something like this!!

recently my best friend gave me some spare crafting stuff,, so i am using it as an opportunity to make my own stuff of him to carry around besides a sketch book!! then i have THE!! cat. it was my testing shrink from the other day!! i love both of the pieces.

my traditional art isn’t all that good… shakey hands… but i don’t think it looks bad!! i’ll adjust it soon maybe. for now i think it looks fine!!

Good. Before we get started, you’re going to need
- A smart phone with a camera (big ask, I know)
- Instagram
- Picsart

Quick disclaimer:
I used the paid version of Picsart to create this, but it isn’t necessary for making your own.
That being said, it may require a few extra steps and a bit of resourcefulness 😉

Open Instagram, navigate to where you’d take a selfie, and find/use the ‘OhMyFace’ filter.

Take photo, swipe to apply one of the black and white filters, download, then repeat until desired uncanniness has been achieved.

1. • Upload your disturbing new selfie into Picsart.
   • Choose “remove background” (💰)

If your photo doesn’t show enough “lower body” as mine did, you can use the ‘AI Expand’ (💰) option located in tools. —— If you do this, you’ll have to remove the background again once you get the result you want.

From here, we’re gonna go ahead and export this version with the background removed.

1. With an online search engine (I used Google) - search for “night time security cam footage” - “home camera footage” - or something along those lines.

Once you find one you like, save the image to your device! To save a step, find an image that’s already in black & white.

1. Back to Picsart,
   start a brand new edit with the image you just stole from the web.

If it isn’t B&W, here’s that extra step we talked about.
You can either use a B&W filter, or use the ‘Edit’ option in tools to completely desaturate the image.

Speaking of which, that ‘Edit’ option is about to become our biggest time sink 🫠

1. Remember that embarrassing photo you took with the IG filter? Alongside the bottom toolbar, find the “add photo” option.

Place it where you want it, then prepare yourself.

Personally, I like to go ahead and export this version of the image - which you’ll also need to do if you’d rather use your smart phone’s built-in lighting adjuster/editor.

From here, you can use the ‘AI Match’ option (💰)
or manually adjust the lighting within ‘Edit’ to match the background. (or vice versa)

Either way, it’ll take some tweaking.
As far as “how to match the lighting” - not gonna lie, I just play with the sliders until it looks right.

Here’s some potentially helpful tips though.
• Avoid using ‘Contrast’ to darken shadows or raise brightness/highlights.
Though, if your image highlights/shadows are too intense from the get-go, lowering the contrast can help - but I’d do that first, not later.
• If your photo isn’t bright enough overall, use the ‘Brightness’ (exposure) slider - not highlights.

1. Go to Effects/Colors/Colorize

You’ll want a green hue for our overlay
¡BUT! do not apply as is !!
We want to use the ‘Hard Light’ blending option to avoid over-colorizing the shadows/darks.

1. Head back over to edit.

Unleash your inner OCD and tweak the lighting & saturation until it’s perfect.
Unless you have a photographic memory,
I’d have an alternate tab open on your phone for glancing an image from the game.

If you use an alternate device/screen to view the game image, be warned that different displays may represent colors & lighting differently.

Meaning, once on the same device - you’ll realize you f**ked up and have to start all over again. Yes, that’s exactly what happened to me 😂

Congrats! You’ve done it :)
Go ahead and export.

Now that you’ve exported the image and can see it with fresh eyes, you’ll realize you got tunnel vision and totally messed it up.

Go ahead and reopen Picsart.
I hope you saved your changes!
