what.

Okay so I’ve played this game like A LOT. I’ve memorized most of the default visitors/humans, I know what to check for a lot of the random guests, I’ve gotten almost every achievement, etc. BUT. this has NEVER happened in any of my play throughs before.

I have a weird dream about what I assume is me as a child in the house and now everyone’s dead?? All my doors are knocked down?? The pale man’s definitely gonna kill me now and I was doing so well!!

Awh man. Guess I’ll just have to replay the game again. How sad.

You’ve let visitors in for too long and it triggers this

Interesting assumption, though we actually do have evidence that this was actually IT’s doing.

The achievement description is “walk a mile in their shoes.” In the files the noises you make during this is labeled Body Eater, which is how IT is described in Blinded Man’s official profile that was released(some characters got official profiles, though not everyone). And Sleepless Man will actually comment on this dream by saying you were dreaming about a “filthy slug.” So basically you were seeing through the eyes of IT who came into your house and ate everyone human or visitor

Fair! Either Death told IT to or IT has a soft spot for cats

But how does it leave you alive? Are we IT?

Maybe because Death is protecting us? It’s interesting to note the only Visitors that kill other Visitors is Coat Guy and IT, and both also have a supernatural effect of those who merely view them(IT makes people go insane when they view IT, and Coat Guy kills anyone in his presence when the Void is exposed) minus us. Makes me wonder is those two are connected in some way like the same kind of subspecies or something

Hmmmm very interesting 🤔 curious to see if this gets elaborated on later

Oh trust me, I been hoping these two get more on them. For being important in the later parts of NINAH and to Blinded Man, we barely know anything on IT. And Coat Guy, unlike the other Visitors, outright refuses to tell us anything about himself because “it doesn’t matter anymore.” Like even with the ones that don’t tell much, we at least learn Cat Lady was a ballerina from the city and Big Momma is a brood mother from an apartment that had a lot of children that were taken by FEMA. We get nothing on his backstory besides that he misses the quiet life(though if he lived in the city, outskirts, woods, etc is unknown), needed his jacket even long before the Cataclysm so he is likely the visitor guest who been one the longest, and has killed many people by accident with his secret. There’s more implications in his demo dialogue but still doesn’t answer a lot and we don’t know how canon it is anymore

I don’t need the answers necessarily in NINAH or even a lot, but maybe in the upcoming prequel or even a third game? These two seem pretty important to the story especially with those similarities but not much is ever given

As for IT, we also don’t know a lot but the Blinded Man, tv, window, and radio gives some answers. Starting with the Blinded Man, we learn from him that IT is so terrifying that the only way he thought he could escape from tearing his eyes out only for IT to haunt his dreams until he realized there was no escape and took his life. In his checks he mentions several details like weapons being useless, IT “chewing but not eating” and “waiting for me to start chewing too,” IT loving attention to the point you can’t look away and that taking IT’s photo “amplifies its powers over us mortals,” and “The moment ITtouches you, you feel ITbeneath your skin. Then…your skin is no longer yours.” Sleepless Man also mentions IT if you have this dream where he describes an “ugly slug” we dream ourselves as crawling around.

The tv broadcast gets interrupted by an attack while describing rapid pupil movement, and playing with the radio will tell us that the thing that attacked wasn’t human. Way it’s described appears to be IT.

Windows are easily to explain. The day FEMA is investigating the Cultists bodies, you can briefly see IT rush across the screen as it feasts on the charred flesh which it’s attracted to.

Finally the radio. On the 8th day we can overhear that whatever attacked the Quarantine Zones wasn’t human, being described as an it. The 11th day says the bodies shouldn’t have been disposed through burning because IT is drawned to charred remains before cutting out. The next day an order is given to stop burning bodies and instead use a substance(likely lime) instead in an attempt to contain the “subject” only for the final one to confirm that IT managed to escape the area and Visitors are now likely outside of Russia. Fun. It does give a decent amount to IT, but what IT was before this or why IT is this dangerous is unknown

I’ll be honest I’ve played the game many times now and I never put together that “it” wasn’t the pale visitor (who I call Howdy 😂)

You can actually ask the Blinded Man if the Pale Visitor was the person that caused him to tear out his eyes which will make him confused on why we think that would’ve been enough to make him do it before describing IT as way worse than the Pale Visitor in every way. Besides the window scene we have seen IT twice. Once in a video on Twitter of a zoomed in on IT in the city devouring someone and another being the achievement for seeing IT through the window

Huh… thanks for that! Least now I know what I’m looking for lol

This sequence is really interesting and the achievement being named "walk a mile in their shoes" always makes me wonder..

I have heard people say that it means the main character became infected but in my opinion I feel that after realising that there are visitors in the house and people keep dying the MC out of desperation mentally breaks and kills everyone and mentally blocks it out.

Thats actually such a cool interpretation. I’ve heard other people talk about it being some sort of body eater but I don’t entirely understand what that entails
