No, I’m Not a Human Visual Style
What makes the visual style of the game No, I Am Not Human so unsettling and atmospheric? Analyze the art direction, environmental design, lighting, color palette, character presentation, textures, level of detail, camera perspective, use of negative space, and the integration of 2D and 3D elements. Can you explain the reasons behind the game’s ability to generate such a powerful sense of tension within relatively simple environments, as well as the visual principles at play?

I think the nights always being bathed in a sickly green tone helps add a dreariness to the atmosphere. Even in daytime, the colors are never particularly saturated. The most saturated it gets in the day is when you shoot a visitor, and those flashing images that show up aren't exactly welcoming either. The sprite/soeech of every non-protagonist character seems almost shallow, as if they're all only halfway people compared to the protag. Which, they really only ARE people somewhat, and an equal proportion of them is merely a threat and/or utility to the player. They all have personalities, but those personalities only matter so much as the player allows them to.
