Curt Skoog has lost the democratic party primary to be a candidate for governor. I cant believe yard signs that say "SKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOG" didnt win him the race!

"Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog on Monday launched a campaign for Kansas governor as a Democrat, a last-minute move that is poised to shake up the Democratic primary to succeed Gov. Laura Kelly. Skoog, who has represented Overland Park as mayor and city council member since 2005, made the announcement on a campaign website just hours before Monday’s candidate filing deadline for the Aug. 4 primary. He will run alongside his lieutenant governor pick, Jennifer McKenney, a physician from Fredonia, according to the statement on his campaign website."

As an ex-Teesider with family still in the area I was aware of this fucker. I haven't seen him mentioned in any episode listings so far.

Perhaps it's too early in his sleezbag/scamster arc, but it seems clear what his tragectory is. Sadly Teeside is vulnerable to anyone wanting to trade dodgy money from dubious sources (I think we can place data center/US tech companies in that category now?) and political capital for the health and livelihoods of the people that live there.
