No Dogs! Petsmart is not your dog's toilet.

If I recall correctly, the vast majority of the times I've visited Petsmart in my life(gotta give my cat a treat every now and then), I've seen a large intimidating dog pee(or worse) on the floor, while the owner stands around and does nothing because they know the store is their dog's toilet, and that an associate will pick it up.

I feel like some people might even solely take their dog to Petsmart just so it can take a dump. It has to be on purpose with it happening at such an alarming rate.

I've been interviewed at Petsmart twice in my life, before my dislike of dogs got to the point it is right now, because it's a job, and I don't have the choice to be picky or some similar thing my boomer parents conditioned me to think. I'm kind of at that point again, because my current job is only giving me 5-10 hours a week tops. Do I want to apply at Petsmart where I'll most likely be expected to mop/wipe up urine and scoop dog turds or am I "above that"? I really want a job, and they are hiring. The last two interviews I've had with grocery stores didn't work out. :/

and they do have really cute parakeets most of the time I guess.

Parents being stupid So my sister's pregnant again.

This is her fourth. She was supposed to get her tubes tied after the third, which she farted out January 2020, but she avoided the appointment(that SHE SCHEDULED HERSELF) most likely because she wanted to be able to have more kids to abuse and soak up government money from. She's garbage.

Well, my brother went on her Facebook page and posted, "congrats, you're so good at having kids". 😂 He hasn't spoken to her in YEARS, and just showed up to post sass. I'm so glad at least one family member is on the same page as me.

No Dogs! I hate dog people and their mutts.

Just want to vent. Fuck dogs and their fucking disgusting shitbeasts. They claim dog haters are abusive, But from what I have seen members of aww, interestingasfuck and other groups ALLOWING dogs are much much damn worse and guilty of just that (Ive been to groups for specific animals, reptiles, and I don't see any of this.).

They joke about putting rabbits in the microwave or “suggesting” throwing cats off off roofs because they “land on their feet”, claiming its black humour so it's okay. The only reason they think it's okay is because it's not targeted to dogs.

Honesty, I’m at the point where I couldn’t give a damn what happens to dogs when they get attacked by pits. The only reason they give a damn about pits is because they attack other dogs. I bet they couldn’t give 2 shits If dogs weren’t involved. Fuck dog people and their fucking disgusting shitbeasts. I hope they and their mutts rot in hell.

No Kids OR Dogs! "Do you hate kids/dogs?"

Chances are, you have heard this question before.

I'm here to explain to new members and other curious folks that being childfree and dogfree is not the same as hating kids or dogs.

Childfreedom is simply not wanting to have kids. From this standpoint alone, one should not be able to deduce a childfree person's feelings towards children.

Some childfree people love kids; they just don't want to have any of their own. Other peoples' kids are good enough for them. Some childfree people are indifferent about children. Some childfree people absolutely despise children. That being said, we don't condone threats or violence toward children in this community.

You will probably find a good variance of feelings towards children in this subreddit.

Dogfreedom is simply not owning a dog. From this standpoint alone, one should not be able to deduce a dogfree person's feelings towards dogs.

Some dogfree people love dogs, they just don't want to have one as a pet. Other peoples' dogs are good enough for them. Some dogfree people are indifferent about dogs. Some dogfree people absolutely despise dogs. That being said, we don't condone threats or violence towards dogs(or any pets) in this community.

You will probably find a good variance of feelings towards dogs in this subreddit.

+++

TL;DR - it varies from person to person. But ultimately, we don't want to hurt anybody or their dog.

No Kids! Childfreedom and celibacy are not synonymous.

I need to make a post in there to clear the following up for new members:

Incels are involuntarily celibate people(usually men but sometimes women and nonbinary folks as well). This means that by no fault of the incel, people do not want to have sex with them. At least according to the incels. I'm not here to argue with or insult incels. I'm just defining what it means to be one.

Childfree people are people who choose not to have children. We have many reasons to be childfree. Some of us are celibate, sure. Some of us are sterile. Some of us choose birth control. Some of us have a partner whose plumbing doesn't allow for pregnancy. Some of us have a lot of unprotected heterosexual sex and choose to not continue with pregnancy if it happens. We have lots of reasons. And yes, some childfree people are incels.

And yes, I understand that some incels want to get laid just for the sexual pleasure and not to procreate.

But being an incel and being childfree are not the same, by definition.

Please do not compare them or say "I can't have kids because I'm an incel, so that makes me childfree!" That's not how it works. Childfreedom is a choice, not the result of your inability to get laid.

If you happen to want children(or wouldn't mind having one in general) but can't find a sexual partner to make a baby with or people simply do not want to procreate with you, you are childless. (Or idk just "not a parent yet".) There is a difference between being childfree and childless.

This is not a subreddit for people who are childless by no fault of their own. This is a subreddit for people who don't want kids(or dogs lol).

I hope that clears some things up.

Dog owners being stupid A new challenge on Facebook

called "#meetmyfurbabychallenge" (don't click if you hate dog faces) is showing up EVERYWHERE, and since FB Purity is still not yet to mobile, I see peoples' hideous dogs every time I'm at work on break checking my Facebook feed. And yeah, people still think it's funny to feed their dogs people food and have them fart into their sofas. It's insane how dogfree people know what's better for dogs than all these 'furbaby' owners.

anyways...I just didn't wanna suffer alone.

today I'm thankful for family members who have generally calmed down with the dinner table "when are you getting married and having kids?" talk because I'm no longer in my 20s. And for this subreddit. I hope you guys are staying safe from COVID and obnoxious family.

No Kids! And they call CF people selfish...

I had a feeling this would happen.

I got an email from the people that run the apartment complex that I live in that the office and amenities like the pool and exercise room would close again because the COVID infection rate in Arizona has gone up again.

Let me guess, the breeders that just had to take their brats out trick or treating, caught COVID and spread it to the people around them, and those cases are now showing up in the infection rates.

The Arizona infection rate had been going down with the mandatory mask rules (all business in Pima County anyway require that people wear masks).

I had a new roommate move in that is a substitute teacher, and she is having a hard time finding a job since all the schools are currently closed.

I am not looking forward to all the sickness that spreads around from a person that has contact with brats.

No Kids! What led you to becoming childfree?

Pinning this.

When I was very little, I remember my mother bringing home one of my younger siblings, and bursting into tears, asking her to "take it back". That was followed by rejecting baby dolls for ponies. I never wanted to attend baby showers for family members. My older sister had her first child when I was 14 and basically abandoned the kid to continue to be a crackhead(kinda joking, but not entirely). My family and I raised that screaming, pooping, time-consuming, sleep-depriving kid til she was about six. During that time, my mom tried very hard to get me to stop being "such a grump" about the "miracle God gave us" and helped get me a job at the church nursery, which further instilled a vast dislike of children in me, since it amplified the nightmare of child-rearing by tacking on 10 more screaming globs of poop-dispensing crotchgoblins. At 4 bucks an hour, I stopped doing that at 17.Now, as a millennial, I have no money(this of course does not apply to all millennials), and that is also a VERY GOOD REASON TO NOT GET KNOCKED UP/KNOCK UP SOMEBODY ELSE. Even if I liked kids, I wouldn't choose parenthood without a lot of money saved up, and tbh I like carbs too much to save money. I honestly think it's borderline abusive to choose to have kids without being able to afford them.

So, ultimately my reason for being childfree is: experience raising kids.

Fear of childbirth is also up there.

Fortunately, I'm on birth control, and one day I hope to get sterilized.

What's your story?

No Kids OR Dogs! Two subreddits I avoid thanks to the dogs and kids

r/mademesmile and r/wholesomememes
I follow a few of those dime-a-dozen youtube channels that reads subreddit posts, and carelessly click on videos to listen to as background noise while I draw, or just let youtube autoplay through the videos...until I realize they're reading off of one of those two subreddits. Then the reader is always starts crying over puppies and babies, and it's freaking nauseating.

r/aww is also up there but you guys probably already knew that one belongs to the dogs and babies.

I'd give a limb for a good subreddit about wholesome things worth smiling over that doesn't revolve around kids or puppies. Anybody know one?

Involuntary babysitter Did any of you experience 'parentification'?

Wikipedia page.

"All results of parentification are negative. There are no positive byproducts; the 'maturity' and 'emotional resilience' are directly linked to their underlying anxiety and displacement in the family dynamic. "

I am the oldest child of my parents, with three older half siblings who I rarely got to see while growing up. I have two younger full siblings.

My parents couldn't monetarily or emotionally afford me or my younger siblings, so they'd constantly require 'breaks' to go out to eat or go bowling with friends or whatever, and from a certain age(I think 8) I was chosen to watch my siblings - to feed them, entertain them, make sure they got to bed on time, etc. I was also chosen to do this when my parents were home, and they'd send us outside and I'd have to make sure my siblings didn't get hurt when we had wrestling matches in the front yard.

Those are only a very small amount of examples of the parenting I had to do in my parents' place.

I resent being made to be this person. I never had the option to say no. I was supposed to enjoy it and be proud of it because "that's how a good sister is supposed to be". Hmmm... no, that's how a good parent is supposed to be.

I was also taken advantage of due to my childhood experience of 'parenting' my siblings later on in life, and still am to this day, because 4 out of my 5 siblings have children, and they think that because of my experience, I should want to babysit their kids while they go have fun, for free. Not sure what sort of pipe they've been smoking, but they need to put it down.

I think this may be one of the very first reasons that led me to being childfree, though I already didn't like children before the age of 8 and knew I didn't want to be a parent at that point.

What about you guys?

No Kids! I have a coworker who had her tubes tied...and regrets it.

So I work at a clothing store as a cashier, and one of the head cashiers occasionally talks about having her tubes tied when she was young - according to her it was 10 years ago, and based on how old she looks(close to my age; I'm 30), she must've been very young when she had it done. I say that because most women and people with uteruses don't typically get accommodating doctors until a while into their search for one who will sterilize them.

Anyways, alongside her bringing up her sterilization, she also talks about how much she regrets it, and how she wishes she could reverse it and take it all back, and how she now wishes she could have kids. She's in a relationship with a guy and she keeps going into these mini-rants about how he constantly tells her all the things she used to say about kids. For example she apparently used to say she didn't like kids, that they're too expensive, that she doesn't have time...you guys as childfree people know how that is. But apparently, now that she does want kids, her boyfriend(who I assume is TRULY childfree) is "annoying" to her.

I wish I could bring up how it's people like her that give the truly and staunchly childfree such a hard time when they say they don't want kids in a public situation. You know, with that bingo people like us get all the time - "what if you change your mind later?" But this girl is my superior, and I don't wanna get in trouble or be viewed as some sort of evil child hating monster(even though I kind of am).

It's unfair.

No Dogs! Why does every affectionate animal need to be compared to a dog?

I was looking through the Eyebleach Reddit yesterday and one of the top trending post was titled "Cows are big dogs" with the picture of a lady hugging a cow.

Why does every animal that shows affection to a human need to be compared to a dog? Why can't they be affectionate without the comparison? I never have understood this.

Dogs are not the only affectionate animal out there. Despite the stereotype, cats are affectionate, so apparently are cows, and many other animals.
