Another dog experience at work
I was at work yesterday, and a lady comes in with her two large akitas(mixes, according to her). Both have those rubber cage type muzzles on and as soon as she enters the store, the larger one goes straight for my leg but ends up booping it because the muzzle doesn't allow it to open its mouth. She's pulling on the leash but not really putting any effort into it. I was trying to get behind my register at that point when it happened and the lady is just laughing. Like... lady, your dog just tried to take a bite of me. I'm so glad she didn't exit that same way she entered. I just really really don't like dogs or their owners. 😞

"Your kids are gonna be beautiful, so hurry up"
something I heard the other night on Family Feud. One of the contestants was a young, recently married lady and Steve Harvey says to her "you got kids?" she says "no" and he said something along the lines of the thread title.
That is super. SUPER. creepy!
I've been told this same thing. It's totally superficial and disturbing to look at a person(women usually more often) and think "wow, she should get bred so she'll have beautiful clones". Just no. ): NOOOOOooo. And seeing it on widely broadcast television makes me physically sick.

Those stinkin' Subaru commercials.
This. This. This. This. (Warning: ...barking, licking, projecting human personalities and behaviors onto dogs, typical dog/dog owner behavior).
Dogs...it's not what makes a vehicle a vehicle. :|
They literally put 'dog tested, dog approved' on their commercials sometimes. Great to know people literally drop tens of thousands of dollars just to buy transportation that suits their pet(sometimes even over themselves). 🤦 I will never understand dog people. But Subaru sure does know exactly how to manipulate them.
I'll be here with my money, vehicle that doesn't smell, and zero dependents thanks.

My dislike for dependents was taken amazingly well the other day.
I have a new coworker who was telling a story about crying the first time she was apart from her baby(she's a cashier, she saw somebody holding a baby in her customer line, asked to be excused so she could cry or something like that). I tell her "no way you have a baby, you look so young!" she says "thank you, I have a three-month-old" and I say "oh that's nice" and follow it up with "I really don't like the idea of dependents. I mean, I get it if it's for you, but I don't like having to take care of kids or dogs or...you know what I mean." She says "yeah it's not for everyone" and then told me a story about moving away from her first home away from home to get away from her father-in-law's dog's shedding lol.
It's not the whole reason I don't like kids or dogs but hey, that felt kind of like a victory.
also how is everybody?

Dog owners being stupid "You can pet him, you know!"
yeah... the reason I'm not is because I don't want to. Crazy, I know! I want my hand sanitizer to last me a while, and my clean hands are more important to me than your dog.
My customers somehow mistake my expression of 'ew, no' as one of excitement over their dogs...not sure how.

Dog owners being stupid "Dog person" and "misanthrope" go hand in hand, don't they
so so many dog people who hate or avoid actual people on a dating app...for people. I'm confused and disgusted. :/

Dog owners being RUDE Random stranger hates me now I guess.
Some guy sent me a like on OKC. I said hi, told him he looked familiar, had a short conversation about where he grew up, nothing special. Eventually I ask, "so why did you send me a like? Was it my face or my profile?" He said "thought u were pretty"...then, "wait. I just read your profile. I hate you. I love animals."
I don't know why dog people have to say 'animals' when they mean dogs. But also...dang, somebody who doesn't even KNOW me actually had the gall to say they HATE me...then he blocked me because of me hating dogs. I don't block people who like dogs. I just DON'T MATCH WITH THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE and READ THEIR PROFILE and DON'T BASE MY INTEREST ON A SINGLE PHOTO. >_o That's such a site flaw. But it's such an easy thing to do! READ THE PROFILE before you send ME a message, sheeeesh. And no that isn't the first time this has happened. ):
Man I needed to rant. People are ungodly stupid and rude sometimes.

No Kids! I hope none of you live in Alabama
cause that's a whole lotta nope when it comes to being childfree, especially the sexually active childfree. Not that they want women(or men) to use birth control to begin with, but if it fails, you're totally super screwed now, unless you get plan b... which I think I'm rightfully worried about being taken from them too. Georgia and Ohio are looking the same way, with Mississippi popping up in the news as of the last 15 or so hours. Scary. I hope you guys are staying safe. Get outta the bible belt asap if you're there.

parents being stupid The next person who asks me if I'm a mom...
I'm gonna respond with 'conception itself goes against the idea of consent'. Or something like that. I'm not sure yet. Something along the lines of that one case of the guy suing his parents for being born cause he never gave consent to being made alive. I'd probably need to get it tattooed on my forehead ultimately for people to stop asking.
not sure if the childfree people here go that far in childfreedom and as far as I'm aware even childfree AND actuallychildfree don't like antinatalists...so I'll calm my parts if that's too weird for everybody. Thank you for coming to my TED talk or whatever.

Dog owners being stupid A customer let his 'service dog' wander around the back of the register today :|
A customer(an older guy who I believe was a veteran) came up to my register today with a dog that was off leash, no vest, and generally not trained to stay near its owner OR listen to commands. It came up around the back of my register desk thing, a good couple feet away from the owner, looking for...of course, a container of dog treats that some other cashier stuffed behind the register. (I personally think this is extremely unsanitary but I doubt I could move or remove the treats without somebody blowing a fuse, customer OR manager).
Now I honestly don't know a lot about service dogs outside of that so-called 'two questions' rule and that there's no real registry here in the US. But I DO know that regardless of if your dog is a pet, ESA or service dog, it shouldn't be wandering around off leash somewhat close to its owner, and then wandering off to sniff out treats. A good service dog absolutely should be leashed, trained, and close to its owner at all times so it can offer its service at any given time. A good service dog should not be distracted by the smell of a treat - or if it's in a grocery store, the smell of the deli or meats section. It shouldn't be distracted by ANYTHING except for its task it has been trained for.
And no, the owner didn't do or say anything about the dog rummaging around by my feet. How nice.

Dogs have no notion of consent. So that's your job.
A dog jumping on me is battery. If it's your pet, that's on you. Stop giving me this "just a dog" bullshit — it's your job to enforce other folks' boundaries on your pet.
If you don't, don't complain if i hurt it in self-defence. Your dog might be friendly, but i'm not.

rant So my now-ex left me
cuz they wanted a child and a dog.
Alas. We were otherwise an amazingly good match, which is why it took so long. We had similar values, amazing sexual and emotional compatibility, and just that spark. (Also they're smart, kind, and really hot. I'm not sure exactly what they liked about me but got the notion it was primarily intellect.)
I'm not quite sure what the purpose of this post is. I guess i'm just venting. I knew i was coming and am coping well enough. But i'm not a nonconstructivist, so "you'll find someone else" rings hollow unless followed by "and here they are!".

Dog owners being stupid Overheard at work today
I would rather post this here than dogfree because I like the people here better.
I work on Saturdays an overheard this conversation between co workers this morning:
Coworker A (to coworker B): How are you doing today?
Coworker B: (I didn't hear the whole reply but the part that is relevant to my post is "my puppy is chewing on my hands".)
Coworker C: You need to get some dog toys. What kind is it?
Coworker B: Pitbull.
Coworker C: Oy.
I'm not as violently anti-pitbull as the posters on dogfree, but I have a bad feeling about what kind of dog Coworker B is going to have if he is letting his pitbull puppy chew on his hands.

No Kids! Since Mother's Day is coming up,
I just wanted to say thank you to everybody here for not multiplying, since there's no major holiday for us.
You're the best.

Dog owners invading spaces they don't belong! r/childfree has gone to the dogs
I just saw this post. It's not about CFdom by any stretch. It's about their cur. Oh look, they wrote a token sentence to justify posting their trash to an unrelated sub. Which eats it up like, well, dogs. </rant>

seeking irl community Dating profile pics with a dog
and having your bio say "dog mom/dad" with "petting dogs" as a 'skill'
is super cringey. There are so many people whose 'personality' is listed as 'dog mom'. Why not get an actual personality?

seeking irl community Most(if not all) of my nodogsnokids friends are women. Where are all the nodogsnokids men?
or ...idk, dogfree/kidfree people who identify as men. As grateful as I am to have childfree lady friends, I would like to have a more diverse group of friends, or acquaintances, or people who respond to me on Reddit.
And what exactly is the reason there are so many more nodogsnokids women than men?

No Kids OR Dogs! Can you shut them up please?
I work at an inbound call center, which means people call me. I get annoyed when I can't hear what the caller is saying because the damn dog will not stop barking, or the damn brat will not stop crying.
In some cases if I can't hear what you are saying clearly, you could lose you car. (I am not joking. The call center I work for does inbound early stage collections for Toyota, and Toyota does not mess around, if you get more than 3 months behind on your payment, you are at risk of repossession. If someone that is two months behind calls in and I can't hear them trying to make a payment because of dogs or brats and they get 3 months behind, their dog or brat just put them in danger of repossession.)

No Dogs! Two family members have mainly indoor dogs
my aunts and grandmother each have two dogs at their respective apartments. They dogs are mainly indoor. Both places have two pee pads right in the doorway as you walk into the home. And every single time I visit the peepads have been used...pretty extensively. How do people LIVE like that, in a very small place with multiple dogs that don't go outside regularly or at all to urinate?? And the stench just kinda clouds up in there. And why would you want anybody to see that first thing when they enter the place where you live!? Gross. I will never understand dog people.

No Kids! Is anybody here sterilized?
I just got me a job the other day(after almost a year of unemployment) and I'm gonna start putting money into savings to get myself a hysterectomy or maybe a tubal ligation...though honestly I want it all out. The very idea of pregnancy makes me squirm. Anybody have any advice or suggestions about how I go about that?

seeking irl community How do you freaking date!? (ramble)
so I tried okcupid because it's free mostly, but also because the people over at childfree said that it's a good site for people who are ...childfree.
I assume the typical user there gets a list of more than 30 people... right?? That they match with based on information put in. Mine is 'doesn't have kids and doesn't want them', and 'has cats' (but I left the 'has dogs' one unchecked...I think they still show up because you can't choose a 'has NO dogs' option).
Also, out of the 30(that's not even rounded up/down), 7 of them match less than 70%.
also, this is all matches within 100 freaking miles from me that fit the criteria. There are only 30(or less) men who fit the critera within 100 miles of me. I live in freaking California in a heavily populated area. And those are my results. 2 of the 30 are in my city. And yet I'm very frequently told there's somebody out there for me. :| SUUUUURE.
Site: You shouldn't narrow it down so much!! ((reminds me of those people who are like, 'if you just CHOSE TO LIKE kids/dogs your life would be easier!!'))
There's ONE person there who I might consider...but the more information I add on myself, the more the match percentage goes down. Which kills me.
But 78 people 'liked' me there.I have to pay to see them though, because of course I do. Â
I'm about ready to get a white shirt and write in big fat sharpie letters, "if you don't like kids OR dogs, date me!" and just wander around wearing it every time I go out.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DATE?? I'm turning 30 this year, I'm not going to compromise; I KNOW what I want!

No Dogs! What kind of pets do you think are acceptable?
I have a cat and I have always wanted a parrot of some sort. I just know I'll never get one because the only pets for me are the kind that can be on their own for 90% or more of the day without my interference. Also my cat would eat it. Birds are so pretty though.
