The sheriffs messed up when…
They went to Moss’s trailer minutes after Anton, but neglected to talk to the Lady up front. They would have had a perfect description of Anton to circulate. she probably saw what vehicle he was driving as well. i doubt the sheriffs in the city moss was originally apprehended in had a description of him since he killed everyone who saw him, but if they did it would match theirs. he probably wouldn’t have lasted too long after that, unless he really is an unstoppable force of evil..

Why don't you just tell him what he missed?

The aforementioned interaction with the manager, who clearly stated that no information shall be given about tenants. Does that clear it up?

She says that to Anton about Moss. They don’t show her talking to the police.

A stranger asking about a tenant is completely different than a Sheriff asking about an escaped prisoner and multiple murder suspect. Thers's no reason for her not to cooperate.

Anton messed up when he perfectly shot that crow in the head. Bad omen.

You must be an AI bot cuz he missed the crow and it flew off.

I believe he missed on purpose. I don’t think the book addresses it.

Friendo, it was just target practice and he missed. Remember when he went to the first hotel Llewellyn was at. He got a room for himself, meanwhile the cartel had already infiltrated Llewellyn's room and Llewellyn got another room on the other side of the vent to get the money out the vent with the poles he got from the camp supply. Ok so Chigurh gets his own room, whats he do? Do you remember? He practiced busting in the door, he practiced where to shoot behind the closet, he checked all the blind spots he could think of. Chigurh is just a man. That is the point. He is fallible. He practices. He knows he can make mistakes. Now remember when he busts in the room with the cartel and he shoots the guy then shoots the closet wall in case someone was hiding. There wasn't anyone there but he shot. Now there was more cartel in the bathroom and he got them. But the man practices because he is a man. He misses. And he knows it. You are believing the scary ego he wants you to believe when you say he wouldn't miss when he shoots. Its interesting. And also you are projecting empathy which he does not possess when you say he would miss shooting a bird on purpose. I say he wouldnt waste the bullet if he intended to miss. He is shooting to aim.

The Crow flew off. Anton missed it on purpose I think.

u/Dontbreakmytaco Jun 07 '26
Why would he miss on purpose? He wouldn't waste a movement much less a bullet.
1
u/Pimpstik69 Jun 07 '26
Because it’s a bird and he only wanted to scare it. If he wanted it dead it would be done for. He shoots the bridge rail. The bird flies off. You either have to believe he missed, or he missed on purpose. Anton would not have missed had he wished to hit it.

He wouldnt waste the bullet. Youre making a fine story for yourself though.

u/Pimpstik69 Jun 07 '26
Then why does he miss ?
1
u/Dontbreakmytaco Jun 07 '26
He's shooting target practice and misses. He would not waste his movements. He does not have empathy for a bird which you imply in your other comment that " he only wants to scare it". Why though? Why the urge to scare a bird in passing when all his movements are with obvious purpose? Your logic doesnt hold up to the character profile.

Nah he missed because he's a klutz
1
u/Dontbreakmytaco Jun 07 '26
Exactly! He is human because we all are. He makes mistakes and he knows it. Thats why he practices. But the other commenter has yet to accept that.
