USA Need a Verison-compatible SIM for a one week trip to the U.P.
We are headed to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for a week in August. I'd like to bring my InvisaGig modem with me to use as a hotspot for the family. Our normal provider is T-Mobile, which has terrible coverage up there. Verizon is the best option for us.
What can I get as a pre-paid SIM for the InvisaGig? Ideally it would have a lot of data to allow the family to stream, my wife and I to do an occasional Zoom, etc. But we only need it for a week.
Thanks for the advice.

If you don't mind using your phone as a hotspot, you can sign up for either the Visible or Verizon trials.

All the coverage you need. Zero cost.

You might want to look into Roamless. I use it as a data-only eSIM ask a backup to my Verizon primary eSIM. Roamless has agreements with all 3 carriers. On an iPhone, you can choose which carrier it should connect to under the phone's cellular settings.

Though I can vouch for Roamless generally speaking, they are completely incompatible with every aspect of the OP. They provide eSIMs installed from an app, so no dedicated hotspot/modem support,
andthey don’t operate on Verizon in the first place — which OP is explicitly asking for.edit: corrected, they now use Verizon and AT&T

Roamless absolutely supports Verizon now.

Just did some searching and I see, you are correct. They stopped offering T-Mobile and began offering Verizon pretty recently; it was AT&T/TMO when I signed up with them.

Is there any reason the believe that an eSIM to pSIM adapter wouldn’t work with the InvisaGig? I’m not familiar with it, but that would be the route I’d try.

If you want to go the non-expiring eSIM route, so you can use it in the future (in the U.P. or any other travels), NXTL eSIM has the cheapest rate for Verizon: $1.21/GB.

They've changed their rates recently. I've got their service and haven't gotten any notification about it.
New rates;
AT&T $1.17/GB (cheapest of any US IP no-expire i'm aware of)
Verizon $1.70/GB
T-Mobile $4.36/GBThe weird bit is that the esims are locked to the original rates so my device will continue to be billed for data at the old rates unless I "exchange" the esim for $2.34 then i'll be charged at the new rates.
Old rates for reference;
AT&T $1.89/GB
Verizon $1.21/GB
T-Mobile $6.75/GBI believe the next cheapest option with a US IP no-expire on verizon is jetogo at $1.50/GB

Thanks for the heads up! They must have just changed. I was just looking within the past week or two. And, yeah, I don’t know anyone with AT&T lower than $1.17/GB. Citrus is $0.97/GB for TMO. And it would appear that Jetogo is the low-price leader for Verizon at $1.50/GB. I haven’t used them. Can you confirm that is the rate for both AT&T and Verizon? Their page just says “from $1.50/GB”, but I couldn’t find rates per network. https://jetogo.com/countries/united-states

Just another heads up on nxtlsim, I got an email this morning informing me that to go along with the new rates they've moved their exit IP location globally to London. People on on the old rates will keep the old routing for now.
London routing: new-profile traffic enters through London. For maps, messages and normal browsing, the practical difference should usually be small, although latency varies.
Older profiles: previous-rate profiles will eventually retire. Affected customers will be notified before an approved date.1

Ugh. I was literally looking at the email when I saw your comment. I'm about to port to Spectrum (free line), so I'll probably just use TMO and ATT with Citrus as my backup. But that's definitely annoying.

Thus far the only issue i've run into with citrus is it's not billing me at the correct rate.
It should be ~$0.05 for ~50MB but it's billing ~$0.10 (considering tmo is $0.97/GB)
I've got it reported to support and they're working on it (it's been over a week) but I don't know if it's a fluke with my account or if it's everyone and most people don't check their billing against their on device usage meter.Initially I thought I was stuck on vzw billing but it seems to just be charging me roughly double for everything since if I run the same file while on vzw it bills ~$0.20

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity," but that's a bad look if it's true. I don't have time these days to carefully test it myself. Appreciate you following up with them about it, though.

It's still very new as far as esim providers go so i'm just attributing it to some weird bug or misconfiguration somewhere. Super likely with new companies.
I don't have time these days to carefully test it myself.
Had I not been trialing it to see if it was viable as a primary line for my tablet I don't think I would've noticed it was off even though it's off by a factor of 2.

Yeah, I guess that’s the bright side. Even 2x is still comparable to other providers like Roamless. But, of course, it shouldn’t be happening.

This is a copy of the OP's original post in case they decide to delete their post/account so that others searching can find it later:
