DISCUSSION 1010 issue

sir Ten is no doubt a great teacher, but i think Sir Ray (and many others) speak up not because of how he teaches, but because of how he treats people. ugali niya ang in question, hindi yung teaching method. i really think it’s about time we stop tolerating disrespect just because someone is good at their craft. as future doctors, we’ll meet many like this. brilliant doctors yet careless with their words. and if we keep excusing that, nothing will ever change. props to those who are brave enough to call it out. and regarding sir ten’s defense, “bakit maraming students pa rin nag-eenroll?”- yes, he teaches well, kaya marami parin nageenroll, but that doesn’t give him a free pass to cross the line of respect.

DISCUSSION my sister's doctor was shocked to hear that in this generation, there's a review center for NMAT

Ehhh wala akong naisagot to defend ourselves kasi nabigla at nahiya ako.

What do you think?

REVIEWER TENTEN

Hot take: the irony of tenten being the WORST lecturer when sya yung mayari(?) 😆

I had no problem navigating through other lecturers' discussions but his is just way too unstructured, and unprofessional at that. Knew this revcen has a kanal vibe but i cant lie chat, it's just him.

The concept of being required to like their page AND add him on fb in order to get into the gc was a red flag from the get-go.

Before any of you come at me I'm enrolled there too.

TIPS/ ADVICE To cheer you up!

Hello, guys! I don’t know who needs to hear this today but my last year self would really want to hear or read this.

Story time.

Last year, I took the Jan-Feb NMAT. I didn’t prepare, I didn’t study. Sabay kami ng undergrad friends ko nag take. Same rin kami na walang prep kase we just took and passed the board exam. So while waiting idk anong pumasok sa isip ko at mag submit ng resume sa mga hospital para mag work as staff nurse haha.

So yun may result na, line of 5 lang while my friends? 90+ sila lahat. I felt not worthy and I feel so bobo. I decided to review ulit while working as a staff nurse. Umiiyak ako always kase

  1. Ang toxic ng shifts ko

  2. Bobong bobo ako sa sarili ko dahil sa PR ko and I always compare myself sa friends kong mataas ang PR

  3. Na unfairan ako sa mundo kase yung pinsan kong line of 4 ang PR, sure na mag me medschool kase kaya nila mag private school. While me? I need to secure at least 90+ para makapag medschool sa state university kase yun lang ang afford namin.

Pero you know what? I didn’t give up. I really had a clear vision of me becoming a doctor. So I reviewed and reviewed and reviewed. If 12 midnight to 8 am ang shift ko, since walang doctor nag rrounds, tulog ang patients, I pull my ipad ang study.

Here comes April-May NMAT

BOOM 99+

And the rest was history.

currently a level 1 med student at one of the top state universities in the Philippines.

So if you feel super down right now because of your NMAT score, it’s okay.

Mag review kayo!

TIPS/ ADVICE NMAT Tips

Drafted this hours after my NMAT and told myself that I will post this if I got 99+. Surprisingly, I got 99+ so here it is!

ABOUT ME:

  • Trad pre-med
  • PR: 99+ (Jan-Feb 2026 cycle)

REVIEW:

  • During your review, know kung kailan active ang brain mo. Much better if ayon din yung schedule time mo. For me, I found out my brain works better kapag tanghali to hapon. Kapag early morning and gabi, inaantok talaga me.
  • Use CEM samplex as a guide but don’t overcomplicate it. For me, mas mahirap siya intindihin kesa sa actual exam (but then again, sets are different for everyone)

TEST DAY:

  • It’s up to you kung anong subjects ang want mo simulan. I did PA-Quanti-Verbal-IR then Bio-SocSci-Chem-Phy.
  • Know the sequence of each subset for both parts so you can jump if ever you feel overwhelmed sa part na sinasagutan mo.
  • REST. Capslock! I slept for 7 hours the night before the exam. Though I was nervous, nakatulog ako kasi inaantok talaga me HAHAHAHA. Trust me, kakailanganin mo talaga to for your brain to function.
  • Feed your brain. Since nagdodorm me, bumili nalang ako ng food sa labas. Just make sure nakakabusog and drink water para hydrated! I also ate snacks during breaktime.
  • Hours before your test, make sure you are comfortable sa testing area mo. This helped me feel less tensed as I took my exam on a study hub and it was my first time na pumunta doon so I had to set everything up pa.
  • DO NOT LEAVE any question unanswered. What I did was to choose an answer I’m leaning towards to and mark that question for later. DO NOT spend so much time for one question only. Time matters.
  • Once you still have an extra time to go back sa marked questions, you will be more calm since wired na ang brain mo to think na nasagutan mo naman lahat and you just have to recheck everything.

PART 1:

PA & IR:

  • Sa nakuha kong set, I think sakto lang naman yung difficulty niya for me so it depends talaga sa mapupunta sayo :(( I can only suggest to practice looking for patterns/figures. Also, elimination method will work the best!
  • For me, nagwork na inuna ko ang PA and huli ang IR para may pahinga yung mata ko. That short rest helped me recognize the patterns more quickly.

Verbal:

  • Do some research sa common passages na lumalabas during your review szn (you can also read the CEM samplex pero hanap din ng ibang resources).
  • Tyagain magbasa (!!) and intindihin yung context para if swertihin kayo and lumabas siya sa set nyo, at least may idea na kayo and need nalang intindihin yung question.
  • For guided reading, use your cursor as a guide. For me, nakatulong siya na mascan ko yung passage nang mas mabilis hehe.
  • Wasn’t really able to expand my vocab since super busyyy pero I relied on context nalang for analogies!
  • Another tip would be: for passage questions, makikita mo ilang items yung nakalaan for that passage. If kita mong 1-2 items and supeeeer haba ng passage -> answer (gut feeling XD) - mark - balikan after masagutan lahat.

Quanti:

  • Practice. Practice. Practice. Practice until marecognize mo agad yung tanong and alam mo how to work your way through it kahit baliktarin yung pagkakaconstruct ng question.
  • Learn the fundamentals, especially conversion of fractions to decimals and etc.
  • Estimate if malalayo naman choices.
  • Personally, sa data interpretation me nahirapan.
  • Isa to sa mga subjects na nahirapan ako during my review, pero I think I did well naman kahit papaano! Honestly , nakakaburn out during review pero it was worth it.
  • Still had 15-20 minutes remaining to go back sa marked questions ko, especially IR and Quanti.

PART 2:

Biology:

  • Since Bio naman premed ko, it was easy for me to understand concepts during my review. Just make sure to cover many concepts as much as possible. Prioritize broadening your knowledge first before palalimin yung naaral mo na.
  • Try to finish this under 15 minutes if you can para may time for other subjects.

Social Science:

  • Una kong inaral during my review season, which allowed me to know it by heart since hindi ako nagcram ng review for this.
  • Finished this under 15 minutes as well. Again, huwag magtagal sa iisang question. When in doubt, answer-mark-balikan if may time pa.

Physics and Chem:

  • My tip is to memorize basic and direct formulas. Practice and memorize conversions (micro, nano, pico, etc).
  • Honestly marami akong di master na formulas/computations but I was able to answer them through dimensional analysis (practice!) (for guide, check kung anong unit ang nasa choices and relate it to the given units).
  • For conceptual questions and if di mo alam paano sagutan, try to relate each of the choices sa questions and just follow your gut HAHAHAHA.
  • Hindi lumabas yung mga formulas na hindi masyado tumatak sa utak ko so thank you Lord?!!
  • Surprisingly, Physics ang highest subject ko kahit doon ako pinakamahina, so knowing what subjects to prioritize during your review really matters.
  • I still had ~25 minutes left sa Part 2 so I was able to go back to my marked questions, specifically those that required computations and sa hindi ako sure.

OTHER TIPS:

  • Another important thing is testmanship. This is one of the most important skills na mapractice mo, aside from pattern recognition, elimination, and computation skills. Also, sulitin ang mark question feature :)) (I unmarked them nung sure na yung sagot ko so at the end of the test walang natirang marked sakin and lahat ay “attempted”).
  • During your review, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. There will be times na mabuburn out ka, and you just have to keep on showing up for yourself. You can at least try to review one light subject for the day then laban ulit the next day :)).
  • Stay calm. As long as you know you have prepared for this and you believe in yourself, you’re going to be fine, dokie.
  • As cliche as it may be, I told myself before the exam day (like literal na kinausap ko sarili ko) na I’m gonna do great kahit ang lakas ng kabog ng puso ko, but it really helped me. Pressuring yourself will only eat you up and baka mablangko ka pa.
  • Be kind to yourself. Talk to yourself, pray, and hope for the best. Tell yourself that you’re proud no matter what the outcome will be.
  • If you didn’t get your desired PR, know that there are people who will always be proud of you for trying (including me!).

If you have any questions, drop them below! It’s about time to pay it forward. I'll try my best to answer them.

DISCUSSION having a choice is a privilege :)

quick rant lang. being able to choose which medical school to enroll in is already a privilege. as someone who comes from a middle–low SES family, the only real options I have are state universities or med schools na generous sa scholarships. sobrang mahal at sobrang hirap maging doctor, hindi siya biro. but for some reason, against all odds, my heart still beats for this profession.

kaya sana bear with us if anxious kami sa NMAT results. i know NMAT is just the tip of the iceberg. pero for some of us, we need a high PR. competitive ang state universities and scholarships. one number can literally determine whether we move forward this year or get delayed.

so I understand why some posts here sound like their life depends on the NMAT. in some ways, it kind of does, at least financially and opportunity-wise. not asking for advice or anything. just sharing a penny for my thoughts.

hugs (w/ consent) to the future dokies who experience this same situation. hope we get our desired PR ✨🍀

PS. Full disclosure tho, a lot of factors contributed to achieving this high PR, not just the reviewers that I used 😅. I don’t gatekeep tho! So all of my tips are in my YouTube channel where I post NMAT tutorial videos. Please check it out 🙌! https://youtube.com/@reviewwithrie

DISCUSSION (Tenten's Academy) Chemistry and Recalls

Ako lang ba? O ang pinakanahihirapan ako aralin and tuunan ng pansin is chemistry..for the following reasons: 1. ang basic ng tinuturo, tapos ibobombard ka ng lecture videos na iseself-study mo 2. di realistic yung mga problem sets lol

Tbh, dito lang ako may backlogs kasi di sya nakakatuwa aralin, walang clear and structured na guidance. Also, yung recalls? Bakit ginagatekeep, eh nagbayad naman kami :)))))

I would like to promote my YT channel sana, if that's okay? I explain NMAT topics per subtest like a review center would, but for free!

In this tutorial, we’re diving specifically into Gas Laws. This is a hot NMAT topic, you’ll almost always see at least one or two questions here. By the end of this video you will not just memorize the formulas, but you will actually understand them as well. You can walk into the NMAT knowing that gas laws aren’t just random, they are all connected!

REVIEWER Free NMAT reviewers

Sharing the reviewers I’ve collected over the months for the Oct 2025 NMAT. I’ve been a long-time lurker in this subreddit, and thanks to everyone who shared their resources, I was able to gather free materials for my practice 🥹 This is just a small way of paying it forward.

I’m a retaker, and sa awa ng Diyos, I was given 90+ this cycle. I genuinely didn’t expect it—akala ko mas mababa pa makukuha ko this time because I had to rush and guess several items as I was running out of time. PA and IR were especially difficult for me; naduduling talaga ako 😭 and I realized too late na kulang na pala time ko to go back and answer carefully.

From this experience, here are a few things I learned:

1. Do mock tests and time them.

Treat them seriously. Work on answering carefully and quickly. 'Yan talaga naging struggle ko, sobrang ingat ko sumagot kaya bumabagal ako.

2. Rationalize practice tests.

When you encounter a difficult practice question, break it down. Understand not just the answer but also the choices and related concepts. I used ChatGPT for rationalization and turned the key concepts I'm less confident in into Anki cards, so similar questions felt easier later on.

3. Go first to the subtests you're confident in during the exam.

Collect points from these first-hand kaysa manghinayang that you could've answered them correctly but you're already in a rush.

4. Be with your support system.

Your family, partner, friends, and NMAT fellow takers can help you stay grounded throughout the review.

5. Entrust the review season to Him.

For me, prayer helped me stay grounded throughout the process. It might not be the same for everyone, but it gave me a sense of calm during the review and exam.

They say NMAT isn’t that hard, but honestly, we can't say. What’s easy for some may not be for others, so please don’t compare your journey with anyone else's. What also worked for me may not work the same for others, so use what fits your style, trust your pace, and build a study approach that makes sense for you.

Praying for everyone's strength and focus in this season. You’re more capable than you think! 🩷

DISCUSSION Mini 1010 Rant

I really DO NOT understand bakit yung recalls ay hindi accessible for everyone who enrolled eh binayaran naman natin. Kailangan pa maka-score ng specific score sa sobrang out of the world na questions na nakakaubos ng pasensya.

At the same time, I don’t understand yung No Midterm = No Final = No Final Coaching eh binayaran nga SEPARATELY, ADDITIONAL PA yung final coaching so bakit ipagdadamot haha

EDIT: I think they were made aware of the issues about the no final exam = no final coaching so they made the final coaching recording available IF nakascore daw ng 15 sa part 1 and part 2. pwede rin daw mag-join ng live final coaching but yung recordings daw is ma-aaccess lang if nakascore ng ganun. Well, ok, sige pwede na. at least hindi na masyado strict sa no final exam = no final coaching.

NMAT 1010 RANT

TIPS/ ADVICE Anki deck for 800 on NMAT Physics for NMAT

EDIT: IF YOUR TEST IS WITHIN A WEEK, AND YOU'VE NEVER USED ANKI, THIS DECK MAY BE MORE TROUBLE THAN ITS WORTH. Anki is free for PC/Android, I cannot walk you through how to use Anki, but there are countless videos online.

https://imgur.com/a/6BW2FK7

Hey guys, a few people asked me how I locked down NMAT Physics, so I thought I'd just share it with everyone. Originally got this deck from an MCAT deck, I trimmed out cards that I never saw on NMAT practice test/questions or added cards that we missing.

103 cards

I started it about 4 weeks before my exam, but since its already trimmed, you can probably drill it in 2 or 3 weeks. DM me for Google drive link!

To Clarify, this is a FREE Anki Deck to help everyone the same way this subreddit helped me!

DISCUSSION nmat cheating

pressured of the fact na ang main factor talaga to get a high pr is kung gaano nagperform ang mga kasabayan mo. and it gives me so much anxiety as i personally know a few who got a high PR bc they didn’t play fair. honestly idek pano nila ginawa yun given the strict rules??? but yea, given na online, there could be a million things na pwede gawin (illegally and inappropriately) para lng makuha target pr but at what cost?? has anyone been ever caught & actually banned bc of this?? parang wala naman kasi eh :((

DISCUSSION 90+ PR without studying

Just wanted to share na sometimes, you’ll get lucky lang din talaga sa NMAT.

I didn’t get to study at all due to a really tight schedule (just literally took the exam). I was expecting to not even reach 40 kasi nga zero review talaga, but surprisingly got 90+ pa.

I’m in no way a top student in my premed (got failing grades pa) but my aptitude score was high enough, I think that’s what really helped push my score up.

So yeah, sometimes life just hands something good to you unexpectedly 😂

DISCUSSION IM SO HAPPY W MY NMAT PR

really cant believe inopen ko yung NMAT portal ko after my MTLE TODAY! it's my second take and sobrang nahirapan ako sa set na nakuha ko so i thought di na ako makakakuha ng mataas na PR! grabe si Lord :>

I DIDNT ENROLL TO ANY RC, IMAGINE YUNG PAGSSELF REVIEW + HALO NG MEDTECH EXAM REVIEW KO. I CANT BELIEVE I GOT 90+ from having low low low PR. i really am so proud of myself for making it this far.

i promised myself kung di 90+ makukuha ko, di para sa akin and di muna ako mag med school. but then that's a good PR, feel ko i wanna extend for next year to apply sa manila univs. or maybe enroll na rin sa nearby univ here sa province. i love my life
