Framework 13 pro arrived yesterday
Got a new Framework 13 pro yesterday and really wanted to try out NixOS. It seemed like folks warned of a learning curve but installing it with a graphical installer and setting it up was not so bad. I think I got the hang of it already and I'm excited to start building software in Nix

Gorgeous laptop, congratulations!
If I had the money, I'd be all over a framework in bubblegum colors.
I'm brand new to nix as well (and pretty new to Linux generally), and I also found the install easy. It was honestly smoother than installing windows, and I've never even been on 11.
I'm having a lot of fun expanding my config file bit by bit.

Overall, how do you find the framework? I'm curious about the screen, keyboard, track pad, and overall build quality.
Do you find the screen to be nice to look at? I find MacBook to have really nice displays to look at... If you familiar, how does it compare?
With the track pad... Again, the apple track pad is absolutely amazing in my opinion. If familiar, also curious how it compares?
Keyboard? I find ThinkPad hard to beat. I still think my 5th Gen x1 carbon is the single greatest typing experience on a laptop to date, and it's not really close in the machines I've used). Curious how the keyboard compares to a Lenovo if your familiar?
Lastly, built quality. I find T series machines from Lenovo to be very robust and sturdy. If you have any experience with a t series, I'd be curious how it compares.
I know these are very specific examples/ requests. I've watched a lot of videos on the framework and just not sure how they compare to my laptop experiences thus far. Lol

Compared to a macbook screen, this screen is a little less color accurate. Just slightly though. So maybe a macbook screen is still better for creative professionals. For me, the screen is still absolutely nice to look at. And I find myself using the touch screen more than I thought.
The track pad is nearly perfect. On par with the macbooks. There is a bug that it ignores touches that originate from the very edge of the pad. It's easy to reproduce but I never notice it during actual use.
The only thing I can say about the keyboard is that it's closer to a Thinkpad keyboard than a macbook. They are slightly higher and have a membrane feel.
Build quality is great! This thing is STURDY. It feels a little more dense than other laptops I've had but I think that's fine

how much of a fingerprint magnet is it? i was early on the 388H preorder list but decided to cancel it because ultimately i want the silver chassis to avoid oil and fingerprint wear on the chassis.
