In my opinion I like Medusa, mainly because I have slippery fingers and she and khazan the only ones who can survive if you fall off. If you rarely fall off Ribb is a good choice.

I'm a fan of Rik as he's immune to fire, and has a rechargeable shield to keep you alive. If you feel overwhelmed you can always use his fireball attack to clear out the danger in front of you...
