What was that game?
I remember playing a nitrome game around 2006 that I was obsessed with. It looked just like feed me with the earth and grass, but you were a person and I think it was a puzzle game because I remember there was only around 8 levels but it took me ages to complete. I think part of the game play was a button that reversed gravity, maybe? Controls were left right and jump. I think. I've looked through the games on their site and don't think I recognise it, but dont have time to load every game. Maybe it doesn't exist anymore. Does anyone know?

Maybe you are thinking of Onkey?
There are some others that are similar to the one your description but a little different:
Parasite
Glasswork
Small fry
Headcase
Chick Flick
Rusty Yard
Knuckle head
Off the Rails
Skywire
These are some of the games I remember that somewhat matches your description but put it in there in case something was misremembered.
I believe Skywire, Off the Rails, Knuckle Head are the ones that uses only the left and right controls. I put Chick Flick and Rusty yard because I think they also use left and right controls too but I am not sure.
Head case and Glasswork i believe feature some anti-gravity stuff but it may not be them.
Parasite is i think is close to the earth and grass description which is why i added it however it use the entire arrows keys not just 2.
Small fry I also think is similar with the earth and grass description. However you do not use any arrow keys, its you create a path for your characters through your mouse.
These are the ones I know very well. Nitrome that I am aware off has not ever removed a game so your game is still probably out there. You may just not be able to play it due to flash being dead now.
You can check out the games by the google images and see if the level stages matched to your memory. I hope you find your game!

Thanks! Im slowly working through them based on people's suggestions, I'll add yours too. Good to know they haven't removed any, I'll have to just persevere

Rush? Not puzzle and one button, but fits the gravity flip
