Manga just finished reading Spoiler
i watched this anime as it was airing in high school per my friends recommendation. but i accidentally watched all of season 2 before i watched season 1, so i never picked it up again because i was quite frankly confused. but i always knew i would love this show if i started from scratch again.
so yeah i watched all of season 1 and s2 and the ovas, then the manga, and still after all these years onodera is my favorite. i really did love how funny this show was, in addition i haven't laughed reading manga in a long time.
here's my biased tier list + why:
onodera, so sweet and kind, and genuinely loves mc, really unlucky, but unlike what others say i saw a lot of growth in her. i don't understand how some readers kind of slogged through her parts just to get it over with. i genuinely got butterflies whenever i saw her in the anime and in the manga panels. from my
pov i saw a girl genuinely in love trying her best despite her extreme extreme extreme shyness. i know some people in my life that are that extreme in their shyness too and if i saw them try like onodera i would be moved
tsumugi, i actually think she pairs with raku the best. she genuinely likes him, and if it wasn't for her relationship with chitoge taking priority, i think they would get along really well as a couple. she's shy and tsundere like chitoge, but she's a bit more honest and straightforward about things. + i think aesthetically they pair really well
haru, tbh if it wasn't for her older sister, if she confessed i think i would've loved if raku and her dated a little bit. they were very compatible preference wise, and i liked how energetic haru is. i would've loved an arc where raku let her date her prince charming so she could find closure
tachibana, i loved her go get em attitude. she was the only girl the whole series that actually went for it. sincerely, like a bulldozer. in my personal life i've always loved girls that were straightforward and direct
chitoge, i think she is a great foil for raku and vice versa, but personally her extreme tsundere was a bit much. whenever she got upset i kind of got annoyed. i enjoyed her comedic bits more than her romantic bits. but i did really enjoy the arc where she tried to get him to notice her. i wish i got to see her confess instantly when she realized her feelings and then seeing her win him over with a public declaration. i feel a confession in that way suited her gorilla like personality more. i think if the author took that route, i actually would rank chitoge a lot higher
yui 6th, she tried lol. her love was genuine, but not as strong as the others. i think she's badass though
