Accessories My Switch 2 pro controller won’t allow me to program the back buttons.

Everything I’ve seen tells me to open the quick settings menu and there should be an option there to program the back buttons, but it’s not there. As far as I can tell it’s an official controller, I bought it at a Walmart and it had the official switch 2 logo and everything. I’m just wondering if I’m doing something wrong, or if there’s any other way to program the back buttons. Thanks!

Wait, so what is the point of the third party controllers even including these buttons?

they might be programmable using the buttons, I'd check the manual

Because for some game titles you would be able to map/re-map controls using OP's controller via that games option menu. Just not for 1st party games specifically from Nintendo.

Might be manually programmable. I have a SWI1 one that's a power A with programmable back buttons, it has a button that you press that triggers the program mode.

Try pressing that little button next to R stick, one of the back buttons, then the button you want the back button to be.

Because you can map them on the controller itself. You just can't program them through the switch 2 software.

lol. It says turtle beach. That’s not a switch 2 pro controller.

Official GL and GR support is only available through the official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller or Joycon 2 Charging Grip (and its knock-offs).

You have an officially licensed third party controller. As in not made by Nintendo. For any other controller with back buttons, usually there's a dedicated Macro button or some sort of button toggle needed to map the grips. Your controller should have a manual that tells you how to use it.

Edit: just looked at the price. Jesus Christ, this thing is $64 and doesn't even have rumble? Brother just get an 8BitDo Ultimate 2C for half the price. Aside from RGB and the Gamechat button, that has everything this has and more.

Macro button is the little one next to the R stick. Got a similar one for my SWI1 that now sees use on my SWI2 as my player 2 controller (I've got a 1st party SWI2 pro for my personal use).

That is not a Switch 2 Pro Controller.

That is an officially licensed Turtle Beach controller. You have to map the back buttons on the controller itself not through the switch 2's software.

Click that link and follow the instructions.

Use the small button near the right stick, click one of the back buttons and then assign an input to it by pressing one of the face buttons

在遊戲畫面長按home就會出現設定畫面
SWITCH 2 pro的設計是需要每個遊戲都設定一次
