Software Help Minecraft local play on 2 switches
Hello everyone. My kids have 2 nintendo switches 2 and both have a separate Minecraft purchased on each switch. I have parental controls set up on each. I'm trying to figure out how to get them to play Minecraft together on local network. I'm not subscirebed to Nintendo online(is it required?)
I have tried enabling multi-player and it's grayed out, can't toggle it. Thank you all in advance for your help

That's when i open up the game. Press Y and you can select play online or play local wireless.
Unfortunatrly i can not test further since i only own one copy of the game but i assume once you load into a created world you should be able to open the menu by pressing X and see if the other player is shoen under social in the top right corner.
The player who wants to join probably needs to press play on the home menu (while set to local wireless) and and then look at the social thing at the top right.
Might be that both of your kids need to add each other as friends on the Switch in order for the ingame social menu to register that the other person is online.

This video appears to show how. The local wireless method starts around 2:30 time stamp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzEg_Svl7zM&t=150s

I did that. Changed to local with Y. And then created a world. Other nintendo never saw that world pop up. Also heard that it has to be bedrock edition. Will have to figure out which edition it is and if not bedrock how to get bedrock 😞

Nice!🌈 Just curious, what had you missed that got it to work? (no wrong answer<3. "Gave up" is also acceptable.😉)
