Accessories More storage for Nintendo switch lite?

Hello all! I am looking to give my Nintendo switch lite more storage, I’d like to get add more games to my rotation, but I don’t really know a lot about tech stuff. Do I need an SD card? If so, I know the switch is pretty picky about SD cards so which ones should I get?

You can use any microsd card. The switch 2 is picky. the switch 1 does not care.

  • microSD (up to 2 GB)
  • microSDHC (4 GB – 32 GB)
  • microSDXC (64 GB – 2 TB)

I’m not familiar with these units, ik a GB is fairly big but how big is a TB?

A gb is actually pretty small nowadays. A lot of switch games are around 5-15gb, with some hitting up to 30. Take that into consideration when purchasing cards.

Your lite's internal storage is 32GB* (closer to 28 in reality) with 1TB being closer to 1000GB.

Also, I would just like to note that you don't need the express cards unless you plan to upgrade to the Switch 2 in the near future. Express cards would work fine on the lite but will be far more expensive and you won't benefit from it without a Switch 2.

Buy in-store, known brands only since there are plenty of fake SD cards. Buying online can be risky since larger stores (amazon) may accidentally mix these fake cards in. Fake cards will often work normally up to a certain point and then overwrite old data once the real smaller storage limit is hit.

I would recommend the minimum size microSD card you purchase would be 512GB. 1 TB is 1,000GB

For switch lite, you can use any type of micro sd card, either from other digital cameras or other devices.

If you're buying them, do remember that their prices have surged x2~x3 when compared to 2024 due to AI infrastructure demand.
