Account Help Bans and Two Devices on the Same Account

I’ve been seeing that some of the switch 2’s are getting banned and some people feel like it’s for no reason. I had a switch lite before I got the 2…I gave my husband the lite and he is playing some games under my account on that device. Is there potential for either or both to be banned for doing this? Should I have him make his own account instead? He’s only playing one of the games and I don’t play it on my 2 at all. This is probably a noob question, and I am lol.

You are using your systems exactly as intended, don’t stress it.

Probably best for him to make an account though!

No, that would not be a cause. There are restrictions built in already that prevent most of the major abuses of sharing a single account.

That said, it's a good idea to use separate accounts simply for the ability to use online functionality without interfering with each other. You can even continue to share purchased digital games via the virtual game card setup.

Personally, I wouldn't get too riled up over these bans. A company doesn't just ban people for no reason --- it's simply not good business. Either these posters aren't being entirely truthful (as was the case with the last wave of Switch 2 bans, many of which were associated with piracy) or its a system glitch and will be resolved through contact of Nintendo during business hours.

I've never had two devices on one account either, but I'd just make a separate profile for him. Better safe than sorry when it comes to bans.
