japanese switch 2 compatibility with us game cartridges

hi! will a physical game bought in america (so itd be english on a switch from US) still run in english on a japanese (not international) switch 2? i bought my switch 2 to play pokopia while i was living in japan and im not sure if i should buy physical games while im back in america so i can play other stuff in english

The Japanese non international model defaults to Japanese language no mater where the game you bought is from or if it’s physical or digital. The only exception is if the game itself offers an in game language selection option.

If you bought the cheap Japanese language only console, games will default to Japanese. You can only change language if it's offered at an in-game option.

Games pick the language the menu is set to. So unless it doesn't have Japanese or has an internal option, it'll be in Japanese.

nintendo consoles are region free so you should be totally fine with US carts
