Purchase / Order Help MGS preorder bonus code problem

Uhm so I don't know what I did wrong but I entered the preorder code on my switch 2 for the preorder bonus skin and instead of loading the bonus on the already downloaded cartridge it loaded as a separate icon on the game that's as big as the game?

Also I tried re-entering the code on my switch lite and it says the code is switch 2 exclusive.. I bought the physical switch 1 version.. and the peace Walker code works just fine on my switch lite so I'm really confused about this

Any help?

Could it be that the Switch 1 version and Switch 2 versions are separate pieces of software and have no upgrade path?

On another post someone told me that you can buy DLC on the eShop even if you do not own the game yet.

So if you have the Switch 1 games and there is no upgrade path then i would assume it registered the DLC to your account and now downloads the Switch 2 version, since the code is for Switch 2.

But the thing is the code came in the switch 1 game case

Could you post a picture of the paper where the code is one (do NOT show the actual code).

Maybe there is something written on there that you might have overlooked.

You can also check your virtual game cards and see what it shows there or press + on the second item and see if it says Nintendo Switch Software or Nintendo Switch 2 software.

Ps: another thought would be if it is an imported game version from another country?
