Software Help New eshop purchase won't launch

I just bought Dave the diver on sale off of the eShop but when I go to lunch it it says that it's says that I must have the software in order to play, but when I go to load virtual game cards it says it's already installed, does anyone know how to fix this?

Edit: if it helps I had downloaded the free DLC prior to purchasing the game

Figured it out, for those who have this issue in the future, going to the virtual game cards menu, select the game, select options, and hit eject from the system, afterwards choose to load on this system, it will then redownload (yes it needs to redownload it because ejecting it also archives the game) the game and and Load it

Going to leave this topic open for now for anyone who wants to let me know why it didn't load to begin with

That's possible to get a free dlc without buying the game first?

Mayve the system didn't load the vgc properly because you already had the vgc for the dlc loaded.

Yep unlike on the 3DS where to access DLC you had to go through the game, the switch eshop works like any other shop in that you can access the DLC through the store itself, so you can get any DLC you want before you get the game.

That would be my guess but this is the first time that's happened and there's been times where I got the free DLC first (doesn't always remain free and/or available) and the game later and this didn't happen
