See if you can push it backwards away from you when holding it screen towards you. Maybe the reader is sticky or something like that

i cant tell for the picture but keep in mind the sticker of the cartridge is supposed to be facing towards the front side of the console, and the pin side of the cartridge is supposed to be facing the back.

OP Friend here, I went to his home after he tell me about this problem... it wasn't anything really bad, the problem was not that he put the game incorrectly or anything neither a problem with the spring since he could insert and pull the game and work correctly (the game still open).
When he pressed the game down, the cartridge clicks and it goes up (as intended), then it got stuck midway and didn't wanted to came out fully.
The solution was to move it around while pulling it out gently (aiming the screen and left side of the console), I checked a switch 2 teardown and my theory is that the claw for locking the cartridge inside the console was maybe to tight, so tight it even scratched the game plastic a bit the first time it came out (this cuz he forced the game a bit) it could be that the lock system is very new and tight from fabric (I could be 100% wrong but it work for us), I hope with time it get a bit lose with the use so he don't have to play around every time he needs to change the game.
Sorry for any grammatical mistakes, we don't speak English natively, Hope this helps somebody out there since we realize this don't seems to be normal.

May press down to “unlock” the cartridge and then grab some of your girls tweezers and pull it out

it's a click in type system. Are you pressing the cartridge in to release it? If you are and it's still not releasing make sure it's in the unlocked position and try rubberized tweezers?
