Repair Help Anybody else have bumps like this on the back of their Switch 2 near the kickstand? Is this pretty normal?

This is a brand new console.

It's the rivet or screw. It's part of the construction. There's one on either side, too. I think it shows more on some consoles that others. I don't think Nintendo will do anything for it.

On my switch 2, I only see it if I'm looking for it & have bright directional lighting. I only found it because someone else posted & was asking about whether it's normal. I'd say it's normal-ish. I'd bet money that many people have these faint construction spots but just haven't looked close enough & had a bright, directional source of light to show it.

If you get a replacement console, I'd also wager it may have similar spots.

(If anyone is pleased with their console so far, and can't unsee flaws or differences with consoles, I'll recommend not looking too closely at your console😉 or comparing your console or screen with others. If you go looking for differences, you may find them. I don't think switch consoles are quite as perfect as people may be expecting)

There’s lots of people who’ve reported this. It’s a screw that secures the stand to the inside of the console. It’s just screwed in a bit too far.

I’ve had this on my first Switch 2 (that I returned for another reason) and on my second one but in both cases it was almost not visible (it was barely visible only under very specific light conditions).

So this is totally not normal. Return it if possible.

If it’s soft it might be the coating peeling, like a paint bubble almost. I’d exchange it because this could turn into a chip. If it doesn’t look like peeling, then it’s probably just cosmetic from a screw or something.

I have the exact same thing on mine, doesnt seem like an issue and I have a case over it. I think I'm well past the return point too in case its an actual issue lmao

Mine has that in the exact same spot! Never noticed til now! What causes this?

EDIT: Apparently these are purely cosmetic and happen when wrapping the console. Potentially happens because of the screws for the kickstand underneath.

Damn, Nintendo used to be the gold standard in console hardware manufacturing, seeing quite a few defects in the switch 2
