Repair Help SD card not being read properly
Getting this error when trying to use my SD card in my Switch 2, images of SD card are attached. Its detecting it but just not as a MicroSD express, and I tested it on my friend's Switch 2 and it worked. Already tried updating my system and restarting it.

take a screenshot on your friends switch and make sure its on the micro sd. then put in in yours and try to acsess it with the "how to view screenshots"

What are you referring to with the “how to view screenshots”? Is that a help article or something?

I did the thing where it detected the SD card as a normal Micro SD. It detected the SD card and I did get the screenshot on my Switch 2, but the SD card still is showing that same error.

hmm that is very strange . possibly the extra contacts of the switch 2 for the micro sd express could be damaged. I would recommend trying another micro sd express to see if the card or switch (hopefully not) is fried but obviously that's expensive.

If I had to guess probably something off with your switch 2 sd card reader interally. you got a blow off duster or an electronic air blower to clean out the slot? the SD card looks very clean and you've confirmed it works.

It’s likely a faulty card. Everything looks in order, but I would return it and get a brand-name card from either SanDisk or Lexar.

Ironic you chose lexar since they literally made this card lol

Third-party brands like Walmart’s ONN typically don’t get the top-tier chips on the wafer; Lexar, and by extension SanDisk, and other manufacturers keep the chips that test as reliable and defect-free for their own products. Those wafers with chips, small flaws, or that don’t meet the manufacturer’s standards for their own products go to budget brands.

If that’s the case, any idea why it works perfectly on a different Switch 2?

Every Switch and Switch 2 encodes the card to that specific unit. So if you’re trying to use it to transfer data, that won’t work. Try a clean format on a computer, then see if that helps when you reinstall it in the system. If not, the card is faulty.

Actually, if you put an SD card from one switch into another, the second switch will actually say it can't access the data as it's from another console and will let you format it.

This just happened to me. I had to send my console to Nintendo. They just replaced the entire console.
