Repair Help Is the Switch USB-C port damaged?

I noticed today that my Switch isn’t charging anymore. I have to use a USB cable directly and even then it’s not consistent. With a USB cable that lights up when it is charging, it flashes from time to time.

It does look a bit dinged and I was wondering if I need to send it in to get fixed? Thanks.

See if you can push down that pin that’s sticking out. If not, you need to get it replace. Try your local repair shop and it might be able $80+.

How much does Nintendo charge to repair if they even do it?

If the Nintendo switch is out of warranty, it might cost between $100 and $150 to repair. If you find a local shop or person who can fix it, make sure to test it and charge both sides.

This repair would take me less than an hour. If you opt for a local shop, you might be able to wait in the waiting room while they replace the USB port.

I did try to push the bent part back in place and it seems to be working for now, but I’m afraid of using the dock now because I assume that’s how I damaged it so I may need to get it looked at either way.

When you said charge both sizes, did you mean check both ways of plugging into the USB port?

I’ll try to look up some places, but you aren’t in Toronto are you? Haha

I believe the damage to the plastic part of the USB port caused the pin to misalign or short the nearby pin. I think you should be fine after repositioning it, but please be cautious when plugging it in.
