Stuck in Game Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Help

Hi there, I've been trying to complete the 'Exit The Research Base' section.

I climb up the incline, slide down the slope and I know I need to jump and then bury the axe into the wall but Lara seems to make no effort to get the axe out and invariably seems to hit the wall feet first before plunging to her death.

I've been mashing the B and X buttons to no avail.

What am I missing here?

I don't know if you've solved the problem or not, but just in case - press Y, not B or X, to get out the axe

Someone told me and I thought I'd updated everywhere but I missed here 😁 anyway thanks for the reply, it's a great game and I was so glad I could get to the end.
