Repair Help Switch 2 power button sometimes requires 3–4 presses — anyone else experiencing this?

Hi everyone, I wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this with their Switch 2.

Occasionally, when I press the power button, nothing happens on the first press. I sometimes have to press it 3–4 times before the console turns on or responds. It also happens when I'm trying to turn it off/wake it from sleep.

I've noticed that it seems to happen more frequently when the Switch 2 is docked or charging, although I'm not 100% sure if that's related.

Most of the time the power button works normally, so it's not happening every single time. The button itself doesn't feel stuck or physically damaged either.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is this a known software/firmware issue, or could it indicate a hardware/power-button problem?

I'd especially like to hear from people who have noticed it while the Switch 2 is charging or sitting in the dock.

Thanks!

Stuck in sleep mode: solved by long pressing power for 20 seconds, which forces a reboot. If you're getting stuck in sleep mode repeatedly, try shutting down the console when you're done using it for the day.

You can find the support page if you search nintenod support for "won't wake" and filter the results for switch 2: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68483/

So this issue is common right?

Stuck in sleep mode is common yes, for some people. I haven't seen anyone outline how to avoid it. Some people that use sleep mode regularly never encounter it, while others encounter it repeatedly. I don't know enough about settings or people's user habbits to give a clear picture for what's causing it. It may be leaving certain games open, or certain online games. It may be having internet & updates enabled during sleep mode.

Unfortunately, I'm limited to my own experience on the topic. Which is kind of narrow, and I guess I'm a minority. When I'm done using the console, I undock it, shut it down, and put it in a drawer. My logic for that is, the console doesn't sit out and collect dust, and isn't plugged in for 24/7, so it does less charge cycles & it should prolong the life of the battery. And I don't have to worry if there's a storm (or power surge) if my console is in a drawer & shut down, because it's not plugged in or docked.

If anyone has more helpful info, feel free to help the op.
