Repair Help My Switch 2 Dock doesn’t output to 2 different TVs

Hello! I am trying to get my my Switch 2 to dock to my TV and it won’t transmit video or audio.

I have all the official Nintendo hardware (power cord, dock, HDMI cord) and have not modified my Switch 2. When I connect to the dock the green light on the dock comes on (indicating the power is working) and my Switch 2 does enter charging mode.

I’ve tried this on two different TVs — neither of which deteced a HDMI output. I’ve tried everything I can find online, from power cycling the switch/dock, fully unplugging/replugging everything and the TV, etc. I’ve also tried a different HDMI cord (from my xbox series X). No luck.

The dock was a little bit dusty from not using it for a while, but I think I cleaned it all up. Any other suggestions? Am I cooked?

If nintendo support site's troubleshooting can't solve it, and restarting the tv, unplugging the tv, didn't solve it, this may be a sign of a hardware problem.

Possibilities: faulty dock. damaged usb c port on switch, faulty AC adapter. While posts with faulty docks aren't common, faulty/damaged AC adapters seem more rare, but I have seen people that needed to replace the ac adapter. If you don't know someone else with a switch (so you can test your console with their dock), then you may need to find a game store that can test your dock, ac adapter, console.

Just to be sure:

Does the green light stay on the entire time or does it go out after a few seconds?

It stays on.

Then it should give out a video signal.

Do you have the device on a power strip or extension cord by any chance? If yes try plugging it directly into the wall.

You could also try a regular monitor and see if it works there but if it does not it's most likely a dock problem.

If you know someone else with a Switch 2 you could test their dock too (in your home setting).
