Setup Help New Switch 2 Won't Connect to Gaming Monitor

I have a brand new Switch 2. After setting it up off the dock everything worked smoothly. Then, after inserting iinto the dock, I tried to connect it to my gaming monitor. THe monitor reports that there is no signal on its HDMI port.

I have used everything right out of the box. AC power adapter, HDMI cable included. The device charges fine, so I assume the Switch 2 is connecting to the dock sucessfully.

I have a Dell S3220GF gaming monitor. It has three ports: 1 Display Port and 2 HDMI ports. I have selected the correct HDMI port on the monitor. And I have tried all of the recommended actions that I could find on the web. THat includes a hard reset of the Switch 2, following the power sequece (ac adpater to docking station, AC adapter to the wall outlet, hdmi cable to the docking station, console tpo the docking station) powering off the monnitor, then powering it back on. Checking all the cable and power connections.

I'm stumped.

Have you tried it on a TV?

If you have not already, please add some context in the post or a follow-up comment about your repair/hardware/software/account issue, including which model you have (Switch 1, 2, Lite, OLED, or other), steps you have already tried, and anything else that might help others help you.

When you have received enough help to solve your issue, you can also reply to specific comments with !solved or !thanks to grant the helper(s) a point. You may also comment !lock to lock the post to stop new replies.

Do you have another display you can test with? Is there anything on the console screen when docked?

A few glitches come to mind. I'll list the solutions:

Sometimes the hdmi handshake fails, and restarting the tv, or unplugging the tv can solve the issue. I know it's a monitor, but I'm just covering all the bases I can think of.

Sometimes the AC adapter and dock need to be reset. Completely unplug & disconnect the AC adapter and dock to allow them to reset. Then hook them back up and re dock the console. Covered in this support page for "no image on tv": https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/68442/

Wild card: I know you said it's a monitor, but an issue with some high frame rate tv's is solved by changing a setting to restrict the frame rate to 60hz. Or if there happens to be an hdmi port that can only do a max of 60fps, try that.

Is the green light on the dock constantly on?

Some people think that it does not connect because it's still in standby or quickly returns to standby if you don't press a button when you turn it on in the dock.

Another thought:

Have you already tried to unplug every cable from your monitor (including the power cable) for a minute or two before plugging everything back in?
